League of Kingdoms
Platforms: windows, mobile, browser
Introduction
League of Kingdoms is one of the world’s first blockchain-based 4X MMO strategy games, launched in July 2020 and built on Ethereum. Developed by NOD Games (Seoul) and published by NPLUS, it blends classic kingdom-building and real-time strategy with NFT land ownership and the $LOKA governance token. Players build kingdoms, research technologies, train troops, and compete in PvP and continental battles where land plots are real LAND NFTs on-chain. The game is free-to-play on browser, mobile (iOS/Android), and PC, and has reached hundreds of thousands of monthly active users. You can earn LOKA and DST through gameplay, events, staking, and governance, with a long-term shift toward a community-driven DAO.
The project has evolved into Arena-Z: a Web3 gaming platform with its own Arena-Z L2 chain (Ethereum OP Superchain, ~2s blocks, low fees). The LOKA token was rebranded to A2Z (1 LOKA = 20 A2Z); the swap was completed in July–August 2025, with support from major exchanges (e.g. Binance, Crypto.com). The Arena-Z ecosystem now includes League of Kingdoms, LOK Chronicle, and LOK Hunters, with an ecosystem grant program and additional games in development.

Gameplay and features
Gameplay is real-time strategy (not turn-based): you grow your kingdom, gather resources, and fight for territory and rewards.
Core systems:
- Farm and hunt: Gather wood, stone, food and hunt monsters for loot to fuel construction and troops.
- Build: Construct and upgrade buildings, research technologies, and train troops to increase your kingdom’s rank and power.
- Battle: PvE, PvP, MMO modes, and treasure hunts. Compete in continental battles where alliances and kingdoms fight for control; outcomes can affect in-game rewards and governance.
- Alliance / guild: Join communities with exclusive quests, shops, and governance features. Coordination matters for continental wars and resource sharing.
- LAND NFTs: Every land plot is an NFT on Ethereum. You truly own the terrain; landowners can gather resources, mint NFTs, and trade on the marketplace. Land is the foundation of the world and of play-to-earn.
The game also supports tokenizable resources, skins, and other NFT assets traded on-chain.
Economy and token
$LOKA is the governance and utility token (ERC-20, max supply 500 million). It is used for:
- Governance: Propose and vote on network and ecosystem decisions; the project is moving toward a DAO (community vault, governance by token holders).
- In-game use: Payments, NFT minting and upgrades, and access to certain features.
- Earnings: Rewards from competitions, events, and activities (e.g. Discord, Twitter campaigns).
- Staking: Staking LOKA yields rewards (e.g. staking on Binance and other platforms).
- Continental pledge: Players can pledge LOKA to a continent to unlock in-game buffs. Pledging has no minimum lock; rewards are distributed weekly. Eligible pledgers (e.g. 200+ LOKA average) can receive reward packages (e.g. up to $500 value).
DST is a separate in-game token system with its own dashboard (dst.leagueofkingdoms.com), tracking circulation, minting, burning, and systems like DRAGO and DSA MINE.
Revenue flows (e.g. LOKA purchases, Binance Pay, NFT/land sales, marketplace fees) feed into a LOKA Vault (community treasury), supporting sustainable tokenomics and the DAO transition. The ecosystem has rebranded to Arena-Z (A2Z); the governance and utility token is now A2Z (1:20 swap from LOKA completed in 2025). Existing references to LOKA in-game or in older docs may still appear; for current trading and governance, use A2Z and the Arena-Z chain where applicable.
Market and NFTs
LAND NFTs are the core asset: land plots are non-fungible tokens on Ethereum. Landowners can gather resources on their land, mint and upgrade NFTs, and trade land and other assets on the marketplace. The official Land page is at leagueofkingdoms.com/land.
Drago (Dragon) NFTs
Drago are dragon companions that unlock play-to-earn and $DST earnings. You can adopt and use them in-game (e.g. deploy alongside troops, mini-games, Dragon Soul Amber for gems and tokens). Drago NFTs come from Dragon Eggs: Normal Eggs (two normal parents) and Legendary Eggs (at least one legendary parent). The Genesis Dragos collection launched on the Binance NFT Marketplace (e.g. 100 LOKA per egg at launch). Breeding lets you mint new eggs from existing Drago: Regular×Regular 80 LOKA, Legendary×Regular 240 LOKA, Legendary×Legendary 400 LOKA; breeding uses Chainlink VRF for verifiable randomness. Official page: leagueofkingdoms.com/drago. Drago can be bought or rented (e.g. LootRush); Drago NFTs are also available on Polygon (e.g. OpenSea, LootRush).
Skins and other NFTs on Polygon
Skins and several other League of Kingdoms collections live on Polygon (Matic) and are traded on OpenSea and rental platforms like LootRush. The League of Kingdoms Skin [Polygon] collection has thousands of items; League of Kingdoms Package and League of Kingdoms Goods are also on Polygon. To use a Skin in-game you mint it via the League of Kingdoms account interface (sign the on-chain transaction); the Skin then appears in your inventory. If you rented the Skin, you must un-mint it in-game before returning it on the rental platform.
Resource minting
In-game resources (e.g. corn, wood, stone, gold coins, crystals) can be tokenized as NFTs and traded. From the in-game mint flow you choose the amount to mint (e.g. +/- buttons), then Mint Now and approve the wallet transaction. Delegated minting is supported: you can keep NFTs in a cold wallet and use a hot wallet only to execute the mint. Resource NFTs can be bought and sold on marketplaces such as Rarible and others.
Chains and marketplace overview
- Ethereum: LAND, Drago (original/Genesis), LOKA/A2Z token, governance.
- Polygon: Skins, Drago (LOK Drago), Goods, Package; trade on OpenSea, LootRush, etc.
- Arena-Z (A2Z): The ecosystem is moving to the Arena-Z L2 chain; new assets and games (e.g. LOK Chronicle, LOK Hunters) use or will use the A2Z chain. Check the official site and Players Arena Foundation for the latest chain and token (A2Z) details.
Use an Ethereum and/or Polygon-compatible wallet (e.g. MetaMask, Atomic Wallet) to buy, sell, mint, and use NFTs; for A2Z-era features, support for the Arena-Z network may be required.
Play to Earn
League of Kingdoms is free-to-play with play-to-earn mechanics:
- LOKA: Earn through in-game events, competitions, continental battles, pledging rewards, staking, and community campaigns (e.g. Discord, Twitter).
- DST: Earn and use via the in-game economy and the DST dashboard.
- LAND and NFTs: Own land and other NFTs to generate resources and marketplace value; trade on the open market.
Returns depend on activity, market prices, and strategy; there is no guaranteed ROI. Staking and pledging have specific rules and eligibility (e.g. minimum LOKA pledged for weekly rewards).
How to get started
League of Kingdoms is free-to-play on iOS, Android, and desktop (browser). No upfront payment is required to start.
Step 1 – Play: Go to leagueofkingdoms.com and start playing. Create your kingdom, complete tutorials, and join an alliance.
Step 2 – Wallet (for LOKA, NFTs, on-chain features): To hold LOKA, trade LAND NFTs, or use on-chain features, you need an Ethereum-compatible wallet. Common options:
- Atomic Wallet is often recommended for League of Kingdoms (desktop and mobile): download from atomicwallet.io, create a wallet, and back up your 12-word seed phrase securely.
- MetaMask or other Ethereum browser/extension wallets also work.
Keep your seed phrase and private keys safe; there is no recovery if they are lost.
Step 3 – LOKA and NFTs: You can buy LOKA on supported exchanges (e.g. Binance) or via platforms like Blockchain.com (card, bank transfer, Apple/Google Pay). Use the same wallet for in-game linking and NFT/marketplace actions. Add the Ethereum network if your wallet supports multiple chains.
