Cambria Ecosystem Update: Founders, Cores, Companions deprecated
Cambria published an Ecosystem Update on X (opens in new tab) on August 26, 2026, ahead of the planned September debut of RSGP. The studio is deprecating Founders, Cores, and Companions NFTs (plus Arena Tokens as a standalone cosmetics currency), with holdings snapshotted on August 28, 2026. Founders and Cores migrate into RSGP allocations and holder tiers; Companions move into in-game trade, not a lasting NFT perk set.
Background
Cambria is a browser MMO with extract-style seasons (Gold Rush), a live 24/7 world (Dungeons and related loops), and a stack of early-supporter NFTs. Founders (Ethereum) were the first-access and loyalty layer. Cores (Ronin) were factory NFTs that minted soulbound Shards used to summon Companions and feed cosmetics. Companions were tradeable Ronin pets with convenience perks. Islands remain a separate ownership layer and are not part of this deprecation.
Cambria docs now mark Founders and Cores under legacy banners that link the same X announcement, and state that Companions are pending migration from NFTs into an in-game item system. The franchise token on the Cambria game page is RSGP. This Ecosystem Update folds Founders, Cores, and Companions utility into that token and in-game systems around TGE.
This piece follows earlier Cambria coverage on the RSGP Loot Drop and Essina's Draw.
What happened
According to Cambria's Ecosystem Update (opens in new tab) and matching legacy docs banners (opens in new tab):
Founders complete at the snapshot
- Founders NFT utility ends as an active NFT perk set at the snapshot.
- Loyalty converts into $RSGP through the Genesis Airdrop in two parts: a flat per-NFT slice, plus a variable slice weighted by Loyalty Score, First Founder status, and Points (matching the Founder docs airdrop design).
- Former Founder unlocks (fee waivers, boosts, login priority, titles, the Falcon companion, and related roadmap items named in the post) move to Token Holder threshold rules: hold enough RSGP to unlock the same kind of ladder.
Cores factories move to staked RSGP
- Cores are deprecated as NFTs; holders receive an RSGP allocation.
- Factory-style roles move to staked RSGP (Cambria's post frames the cosmetics path as veRSGP staking), starting with Cosmetic Shard generation.
- Unshipped Cores roadmap items (tier-gated skins and pets, Cosmetic Shard Auctions, Weekly Charm Packs, issuance governance) are slated against staked RSGP positions instead of Core tiers.
- Existing Cosmetic and Companion Shards migrate into the new system.
- Each player's highest Core Tier becomes a soulbound account attribution for possible future cosmetic eligibility as an early collector.
Companions leave the NFT market
- Companion NFTs fold into in-game (offchain) assets.
- Players will trade them through Clara's Bazaar using Keys or future Cambria spend tokens, rather than as a Ronin NFT primary loop.
- The studio frames this as a usability change for players who do not want wallet-first pet trading.
Arena Tokens and what stays
- Arena Tokens stop as the standalone cosmetics currency; balances are treated under the same conversion principle Cambria used when AT v1 moved to Cosmetic Shards, with holdings recognized toward allocation, plus a final AT burn for Keys for players who want Key value instead.
- Islands stay on-chain as the Archipelagos ownership and guild layer.
- Pendants, Charm Cards, and cosmetics / rares remain as in-game collectible loops.
- Companions and cosmetics continue in-game, with generation intended via token staking instead of Cores.
Snapshot (already taken): Friday, August 28, 2026, 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 7PM CET, covering the deprecated asset set named in the post.
Allocation detail: Exact RSGP amounts per asset and season ship with Tokenomics, ahead of the TGE claim. The Ecosystem Update does not publish those tables.
Cadence around TGE: Cambria says RSGP launches in September, with the Genesis campaign live when the Update posted. Gold Rush Season 4 is planned after TGE and is meant to incorporate the token. Persistent modes (Standard League / Eternal World) are described as follow-ons behind Season 4.
Who it affects
Founders and Cores holders
If you held Founders or Cores at the August 28 snapshot, your next watch is the Tokenomics drop and the TGE claim UI, not secondary floors on the deprecated NFT contracts. Founder-style perks will only return through RSGP balance thresholds. Cores holders should expect factory loops to reappear as staked RSGP behavior once that path is live, and should keep an eye on how existing Shards migrate.
Companion owners
Companion ownership is moving into the client. Plan for trading and equipping through Clara's Bazaar with Keys (or later spend tokens), not as a long-term Ronin NFT marketplace loop. The official post does not describe Companions as a direct NFT→RSGP swap the way Founders and Cores are framed.
Islands holders and in-game collectors
Islands are unchanged by this deprecation. Pendant, Charm Card, and cosmetics players keep those loops, but should expect cosmetics production to rewire around RSGP staking rather than Core tiers.
RSGP and Genesis campaign watchers
September TGE timing and claim rules will decide when snapshot allocations become spendable RSGP. Until Tokenomics publish, treat any third-party allocation spreadsheet as provisional.

Bottom line: Treat the August 28 snapshot as locked for Founders, Cores, Companions, and Arena Token recognition. Wait for Cambria's Tokenomics and TGE claim before acting on allocation size, and check in-client whether Companions already trade only through Clara's Bazaar before listing them as Ronin NFT utility.
