Sunflower Land Discord compromise: game not affected
Thought Farm warned Sunflower Land farmers on October 2, 2026 that the official Discord had been compromised, while stating clearly that the game itself was not. Treat sudden claim links, wallet connects, and lookalike staff posts as untrusted until you see a matching update from channels you already trust.
Background
Sunflower Land is Thought Farm’s wallet-optional farm RPG. Progress and collectibles can move on-chain when you opt in; the utility token is FLOWER, with play surfaces across Polygon, Base, and Ronin. Discord is still where many farmers see role pings and in-client News pointers, so a compromised server can look like a staff drop even when the client is fine. Ascension Age Chapter 15 and older X-handle hijacks that used a different claim host are separate events.
What happened
Early warnings: do not open links
In the official Sunflower Land Discord (opens in new tab) on October 2, 2026, staff told everyone not to open posted links or connect a wallet to any site. A follow-up said the team was deep-diving the incident, asking farmers to wait while they contained it, and clearing timeouts and bans that had already hit users.
Ronin Network on X (opens in new tab) posted the same night (UTC) that the @0xSunflowerLand Discord was compromised and told people not to interact with links. A follow-up (opens in new tab) warned that a Discord announcement was linked inside the game, and showed an in-game News panel attributed to “Adam” with a $SFL Farmer Rewards claim link. Do not open the claim host Ronin showed in that warning image; it is not an official Sunflower Land claim page, and it is not the August claim-sunflowerland.com incident.
Discord locked; game OK; investigation still open
Still on October 2, staff said they were removing timeouts and bans, had the Discord locked down, and believed they had it under control while they kept reviewing the Discord for anything still wrong. They apologized for the Discord compromise and said they were still looking into it. In the same update they stated the game itself was not compromised: it was a Discord event, and the game was OK.
Later that morning (UTC), Ronin posted (opens in new tab) that the Sunflower Land team had regained control. That update sits after the Discord “still looking into it” note and before the later audit close.
Follow-up: fake Adam lookalike, audit closed
A longer Discord follow-up explained the mechanism as staff described it: a compromised account enabled a fake account that used a name similar to Adam’s Discord id, plus the same nickname and profile picture. That account could change permissions, timeout or ban users, remove certain channels, and post announcements. Staff reiterated that Adam’s account was not compromised and that Adam did not post the scam message.
By that later post, the team said it had completed an audit and closed vulnerabilities. Users who clicked the link were pointed to an in-server farmers-chat note. Users who lost funds were asked to contact support with details. Staff said they will verify claims, noted that in a previous instance some people said they were impacted when they were not, and stated they cannot guarantee reimbursement because the posting account was a copycat, while still saying they will try to make things right for people who were actually hit. They also listed red flags: wrong project token names, scam spam or muted chat, locked channels, and rush “time limited” posts.
@0xSunflowerLand and @yakkamon_game did not publish a matching compromise thread. Ronin’s X chain is the public mirror; the official timeline above is the Sunflower Land Discord sequence.
Who it affects
Farmers still in Discord or the client News panel
If you saw a sudden rewards claim that rushes a connect, do not open it. Prefer the official Sunflower Land Discord (opens in new tab) and check @0xSunflowerLand (opens in new tab) before you trust a social post. In-client News can surface Discord announcements; a panel that looks like staff is not enough on its own. Staff said the game stayed outside this Discord event, but phishing still targets wallets through the social layer.
Anyone who clicked a claim link or lost funds
If you already opened a claim page, stop interacting with it and do not approve more wallet prompts. Keep your own records (time, wallet, site screenshots) and use official support paths named inside the Discord; expect verification and do not assume a payout. Ignore DMs that offer “recovery” first.
Collectors and FLOWER holders
No studio claim in this incident says farm NFTs or FLOWER contracts were drained through a game exploit. Still treat random “Farmer Rewards” claim hosts as untrusted. Check FLOWER deposit and spend rules on studio docs before you move funds.

What to watch next
- Further posts in the official Sunflower Land Discord (opens in new tab) on support outcomes
- @0xSunflowerLand (opens in new tab) if the studio later mirrors the incident on X
- In-Discord support replies if you filed a loss claim
- New claim hosts or lookalike staff names; keep treating rush rewards posts as untrusted
Bottom line: Treat every sudden Discord or in-game News claim as untrusted until it matches a clear staff update. If you already clicked a link, stop signing, use official support only, and do not expect a guaranteed refund.
