Axie Infinity AOC redemption returning soon: 5 crystals for 1 Origin

Sky Mavis said on August 17, 2026 that Atia Original Crystal (AOC) redemption will return soon on App.axie. Holders will be able to combine five crystals into one new Origin axie, with each of six body parts taking an independent 7% Mystic roll. Up to 275 Origins can still enter circulation from the 1,375 AOC left on Ronin; Sky Mavis has not published an exact open date.

For collectors who still hold those crystals, this is the first studio signal that the unfinished Origin roll is coming back to a public UI.

Background

Origin axies are Axie Infinity's earliest collectible tier. Their supply was capped at 4,088 during the February–April 2018 Origin presale. That sale also ran a referral program: early players earned referral tokens that later became known as Axie Origin Coins, then Atia Original Crystals.

From the start, five of those tokens could summon one more Origin. Every Origin has six body parts (eyes, ears, mouth, horn, back, and tail). Each part gets its own Mystic check. Mystic parts do not pass through normal breeding; they only appear when a new Origin is created.

The original Ethereum burn-and-roll path eventually went quiet. On January 22, 2024, 1,375 unrolled AOC moved to Ronin and took the Atia Original Crystal name. The crystals arrived on-chain, but a public redemption screen did not open then.

The post confirms that holders will soon be able to combine five Atia Original Crystals on App.axie and mint a new Origin from the 4,088-capped supply. No calendar date sits behind "soon"; the studio only says more details are coming.

Roll rules

The upcoming roll keeps the original mechanics:

• 5 AOC → 1 new Origin axie
• Six body parts per Origin (eyes, ears, mouth, horn, back, tail)
• Each part rolls independently at 7% for Mystic
• One Origin can land zero, one, or several Mystic parts on the same summon

Supply runway

The 1,375 crystals that migrated in 2024 are enough for up to 275 new Origins. Once five AOC are spent on a roll, those crystals leave the remaining pool. Until Sky Mavis opens App.axie redemption, holders cannot complete that step through a public UI.

Collectors with AOC

If you already hold at least five Atia Original Crystals on Ronin, watch App.axie and The Lunacian for the open window. Each completed roll will permanently remove five crystals from the 1,375 runway. Do not assume every crystal will mint on day one; wait for the live redeem flow before planning inventory moves.

Origin and Mystic holders

New Origins can only come from this remaining AOC runway until crystals are exhausted. Existing Origin and Mystic owners should watch how many new summons appear once the UI opens, and how Mystic outcomes show up in sale listings, without treating the 7% per-part line as a guaranteed hit rate for any single wallet.

Players

For Axie Infinity Origins players, newly summoned Origins sit in the same Origin collectible tier as prior stock. Mystic parts remain a creation-time rarity signal on those axies rather than a separate gameplay bonus beyond Origin status.
