BNB Chain NFT sales lead: $32.75M week ahead of Ethereum
BNB Chain led weekly NFT sales in CryptoSlam’s seven-day snapshot captured on September 5, 2026, with about $32.75 million in organic volume after a 1,042% jump week over week. That put the network ahead of Ethereum at roughly $18.94 million organic sales in the same window, while global NFT sales rose about 55.6% to roughly $75.54 million. Collectors should read the lead as a one-week organic dollar ranking and separate organic volume from wash before treating any chain as the new default.
Background
Chain NFT leaderboards usually change when a few networks post large dollar volumes in a short window. CryptoSlam separates organic sales from wash trading (circular or self-dealt volume that inflates totals). Rankings that mix the two can make quieter organic totals look larger than they are.
Reporting based on CryptoSlam shows the global dollar total rose even as transaction counts fell, which usually means larger average trades rather than more people buying. The same weekly sales total can mix game assets, profile-picture collectibles, and other NFT-like instruments (for example liquidity-position or BRC-20 style tokens). A headline like “$75M in NFT sales” only makes sense once you check which collections and which chains actually moved that money.
What happened
Global NFT sales week (CryptoSlam, Sept 5)
The Cryptonomist (opens in new tab) (5 September 2026) attributes a CryptoSlam seven-day snapshot to the following market totals:
| Metric | Snapshot |
|---|---|
| Global NFT sales | ~$75.54M (+55.6% vs prior week ~$48.55M) |
| Transactions | 650,332 (−14.77%) |
| Avg value / txn | ~$116 (from ~$64 prior week) |
| Buyer addresses | 273,655 (+20.38%) |
| Seller addresses | 291,266 (+18.09%) |
Address counts track wallets, not verified unique people. The same piece notes Bitcoin near $79,694 and Ether near $2,458 at snapshot time; that timing is parallel context, not proof that Bitcoin and Ether caused the NFT rebound. CoinScreamer (opens in new tab) (6 September 2026) repeats the same CryptoSlam window and global totals.
BNB Chain first, Ethereum second
Organic chain sales in that snapshot:
| Rank | Network | Organic sales | WoW | Notes from coverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | BNB Chain | ~$32.75M | +1,042% | Wash ~$8; buyers 22,132 (+30.84%) |
| 2 | Ethereum | ~$18.94M | −14.23% | Buyers 40,098 (+21.13%); wash ~$742k |
| 3 | Polygon | ~$7.29M | +6.12% | Wash ~$18.73M (combined ~$26.02M) |
| 4 | Bitcoin | ~$5.87M | −34.20% | Buyers up despite lower dollars |
| 5 | Base | ~$4.23M | +36.59% | Wash ~$4.80M > organic |
| 6 | Solana | ~$1.91M | +9.99% | Buyers 47,853 (+24%) |
Cryptonomist and CoinScreamer both stress that no single BNB Chain collection explained most of the chain’s volume. The jump is spread across the network. Ethereum’s buyer-address rise with falling dollar sales points to smaller average tickets, not an empty marketplace.
Top collections and what volume includes
Collection leaders in the same reporting:
| Collection | Chain (per coverage) | Sales | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Courtyard | Polygon | ~$6.32M (~8.4% of global) | Broad txn base (~97k txs) |
| Beezie | Base | ~$2.64M | Only 9 buyer addresses vs 240 sellers |
| Argonauts | Ethereum | ~$2.07M | Sharp sales and txn drop |
| CryptoPunks / Blokyz / BAYC | Ethereum (named) | ~$1.86M / $1.48M / $1.17M | Classic collectibles mid-table |
| Guild of Guardians Heroes | (named in top 7) | ~$981,850 (+2.64%) | Gaming collection in the top seven |
The week’s largest single trade cited was a Bitcoin $REWD BRC-20 NFT for 10 BTC (~$796,863). Cryptonomist also flags Algebra liquidity-position NFTs and similar instruments inside CryptoSlam sales totals. Those assets are not the same product as a profile picture or a game hero mint, even when they share a sales leaderboard.
Who it affects
Collectors
A chain lead on a seven-day board only shows which network had the highest NFT sales total in that window. Prefer organic figures when you compare BNB Chain to Ethereum. On Polygon and Base in this snapshot, wash volume was large enough to distort combined totals.
Check the collection and contract before you chase a ranking screenshot. Beezie did about $2.64M in sales with only nine buyer addresses against 240 sellers, so a high dollar total can still sit with a very small set of wallets. Courtyard also led collections (~$6.32M) but on roughly 97,000 transactions, a much broader trade base than Beezie’s nine-buyer week.
Players
Most of this week’s chain race is marketplace volume, not a new BNB Chain season announcement. Guild of Guardians Heroes appearing in the top seven is a gaming signal for that franchise’s secondary market. Play and mint rules still follow that title on Immutable, not the BNB Chain sales lead.
Readers watching chain boards
One week with a 1,042% BNB Chain spike can dominate the global percentage even if other chains are quiet. Watch the next CryptoSlam week for whether organic BNB volume holds across many collections.

Bottom line: Read the Sept 5 CryptoSlam week as a BNB Chain organic sales spike that briefly topped Ethereum on dollars, while global NFT sales rose on fewer, larger trades. Before you act on a ranking screenshot, check organic vs wash on the chain you care about and verify the collection contract; one leaderboard week is not a reason to treat every NFT sales total as the same product.
