51.games says Chainers is moving "some of its features away from the blockchain" to make the farm run more smoothly, cut delays, and end "annoying gray seeds." On October 2, 2026, @ChainersGame (opens in new tab) framed the change as a behind-the-scenes speed pass: Chainers says assets and accounts stay as they are, withdrawals work as before, and players need do nothing. In the same early-October window, Flame of Light (01 Oct–05 Oct, 12:00 UTC) is the live-ops step that opens Tree of Light crafting at Epic and Legendary.

On October 2, 2026, Chainers on X (opens in new tab) posted that the studio is "working on optimizing the game by moving some of its features away from the blockchain." The post lists four player-facing points:
- Smoother gameplay: Chainers says the change will make the game run more smoothly, reduce delays, and "finally put an end to those annoying gray seeds."
- Assets (studio claim): Chainers says "Your assets are safe," "Everything you own will remain exactly as it is," and "Nothing will change in your account."
- Same experience: Chainers says you can still play and "withdraw your rewards just like you've always done."
- No action required: Chainers says you "don't need to do anything on your end."
Chainers also calls the work a "behind-the-scenes improvement" for faster, smoother, more reliable play with fewer errors and "no more gray seed headaches."
The post does not name which features move off-chain, which chain is affected, when the rollout lands or finishes, or whether any item's on-chain status changes.
Gray items in docs (context only)
As of October 5, 2026, Chainers docs were not rewritten for this announcement. The FAQ (opens in new tab) still describes gray / grayed-out items as "Minting in Progress" (items being minted on the blockchain). Live-ops (opens in new tab) still notes that mission rewards are minted on the blockchain, and boosters (opens in new tab) still say opening a pack mints in-game cards on the blockchain. The October 2 post does not define "gray seeds"; treat the FAQ line as docs context, not as Chainers' explanation of this change.

Farmers watching mint delays
If gray seeds or long mint waits have been blocking harvest loops, the October 2 post is the studio's promise that some features will leave the chain to cut those delays. Until Chainers names which loops move, keep farming as usual: Chainers says play and withdraw stay the same and no wallet action is required.
