Chicken Saga Arc 4.1 wrap: wager UI and transfer fix before High Noon
Chicken Saga closed Arc 4.1 First Light and, during the September 11–25 rest fortnight, shipped a wagering and matchmaking pass you can use while ranked arcs are on pause. The studio also said it will change how recently transferred chickens work in matches before Arc 4.2 High Noon opens on September 25, 2026, after players reported stake asymmetry on those fights.
Use the rest window to practice and collect daily Liwayway. Treat the transfer change as announced intent until the live client ships the rule.
Background
Chicken Saga is a Ronin rooster auto-battler. You field NFT chickens in best-of-3 fights, breed and craft, and earn or spend the COCK token. RON is the gas token on Ronin.
Season 4 splits ranked play into three short arcs with MMR resets between them. First Light was the first sprint (August 28 – September 11, 6,500,000 $COCK to the top 100). High Noon is next (September 25 – October 9, 7,875,000 $COCK). This article follows that Season 4 calendar with the Arc 4.1 close, rest-window client changes, and the pre-4.2 transfer note.
What happened
Arc 4.1 close and prizes
In the official Chicken Saga Discord (opens in new tab) (and mirrored on X (opens in new tab)), the team said First Light wrapped after about two weeks with 29,000++ matches on a 6,500,000 $COCK pool. Final standings lock under Leaderboard → Season 4, Arc 4.1 First Light.
Prize rules they stated:
- Results get a 2–3 day review before crediting
- Payouts land as claimable $COCK
- Standings freeze at arc close, so prizes follow whoever held the chicken at that moment (a later transfer does not move the prize)
A follow-up X post (opens in new tab) said Arc 4.1 First Light rewards have been sent to the Top 100. Check the in-client claim flow before you treat any social screenshot as wallet balance.
Rest Fortnight (September 11–25)
During rest:
- Battles still run (unranked for arc purposes)
- Liwayway's Blessing keeps paying 69,000 $COCK per day
- Rest matches do not settle on any arc leaderboard and carry no arc prizes
Competitive MMR is back at 1200. That reset is intentional so High Noon is a fresh contest. Level, EXP, skill points, affection, and stats stay; only the competitive ladder resets. It resets again when 4.2 opens.
Wagering and matchmaking (live now)
The same Discord update listed client changes for the rest window:
| Change | Detail |
|---|---|
| Wager panel balance | Feathers and Legendary Feathers show in the wager UI; the button disables if you cannot cover the stake |
| Win / loss feedback | Victory and defeat screens show feather gain or loss. Example: win a 100 feather wager shows +90 after a 5% fee; lose shows -100 |
| Draws | Stake refunds instantly (studio said players previously waited about 30 minutes) |
| Matchmaking | On long queues, level range stretches to 25 (up from 20) |
Transfer matches: change coming before 4.2
The studio said it investigated reports about chickens that change hands mid-ladder. Under current behavior, a transferred chicken earns nothing, but the opponent still paid the full stake, and the studio says that asymmetry is being abused. They plan a change so those matchups no longer leave you paying full price into a no-earn bird, and they will publish the exact shape before Arc 4.2 rather than mid-arc. Details are not locked yet.
Who it affects
Competitive players
If you finished top 100 in First Light, verify claimable $COCK in-client and that the chicken you used still matches the freeze-owner rule if you traded after close. Everyone else: rest fights do not rebuild arc MMR. High Noon starts from 1200 again on September 25.
Use the wagering UI updates to see stake coverage and post-match feather deltas before you spam rest queues. Wider matchmaking after long waits can pull a broader level band.
Collectors and traders
If you buy or sell chickens between arcs, remember arc prizes already locked to the freeze holder. Do not price a post-close purchase as if it carries First Light leaderboard $COCK.
Until the transfer-match fix ships, treat mid-ladder transfers as a known friction point in wagered fights. Prefer official notes before Arc 4.2 over marketplace hearsay. Catalog collections: Chicken Saga Chickens and Chicken Saga Genesis.

What to watch next
- Before September 25: official note on the transferred-chicken match rule
- September 25, 00:00 UTC (calendar): Arc 4.2 High Noon open; confirm live pool and claim UI
- In-client claim for any remaining First Light $COCK
- @PlayChickenSaga (opens in new tab) and Discord (opens in new tab) for rest and 4.2 patches
Bottom line: Grind rest for practice and daily Liwayway, not arc MMR. Check wager fee and balance UI before heavy rest stakes, and wait for the pre-4.2 transfer note before you assume mid-ladder chicken trades are safe in wagered queues.
