Elowyn adds Profile Customization and Friends, removes The Coin ahead of Beta mana-boost cards

On October 13, 2026, Elowyn: Quest of Time said in its official Discord announcement that Profile Customization and Friends are live, including invites to Private Matches, and that The Coin card is gone from collections. Beta mana-boost cards will replace it later, though no release date was announced. Players can personalize profiles and invite friends to Private Matches now. The Coin was never meant to be a collectible: it only gave the second player a small balance boost.

Background

Elowyn is EARTHwise’s browser collectible card game on Immutable. Matches bend around a shared Tree (Elo) and a Moloch Clock win condition, so healing and time play sit beside ordinary hero combat. The catalog page is Elowyn: Quest of Time.

Earlier in October, the same Discord channel teased Profile Customization, Friends, and a few unnamed “surprises,” plus a card-upgrade mechanics preview.

What happened

Profile Customization and Friends live

On October 13, 2026, Elowyn posted in the official Elowyn Discord (opens in new tab) that the update was complete and servers were back up. Profile Customization and Friends are live. Players can personalize their profile, add fellow Elowynians, and invite them to Private Matches.

The studio also said servers would be down for approximately one hour while it rolled out those two features. That downtime window is over; treat the live client as the source of truth for what you can open in Profile and Friends.

Why The Coin is gone

The same update-complete announce said players may notice The Coin missing from their collection. Elowyn’s design rationale:

  1. By game design, The Coin was never meant to be a collectible card. It only existed to give the second player in a match a small boost and balance that disadvantage.
  2. Beta cards are on the way and will replace The Coin with mana-boost cards, each with extra effects. No date and no named cards were given.

If The Coin sat in your collection UI before October 13, treat the removal as intentional design, not a lost collectible drop.

More in October: roadmap and card upgrades

The earlier October Discord roadmap already named Profile Customization and Friends, and kept additional surprises off the list. In that same wave, Elowyn previewed card-upgrade stages and Spell / Minion upgrade choices. Per that Discord announcement, upgrade tiers run Awakened → Ascended → Mythic → Eternal, with in-game EWA Points and XP costs at each step.

Spell upgrades pick an effect such as Recover (heal your hero by 1), Bloom (heal Elo by 1), Reinforce (heal a random ally minion by 1), Poke (deal 1 damage to a random enemy minion), or Insight (draw a card). Minion upgrades trade stats: Overdrive raises Attack and Mana, Aggression raises Attack but lowers Health, Bastion raises Health and Mana, Resilience raises Health but lowers Attack, Trickle lowers Mana twice, and Ephemeral lowers Mana and Health. The studio also said Account Level 10 enables Card Minting, as announced.

A Discord Level Season also closed with a Sapling Card Pack prize. That community prize is background only for this piece.

Who it affects

Players who want social play

Open Profile Customization and Friends in the live client. Add people you already know from Discord or the Arena, then use Private Match invites when you want a controlled duel instead of the open queue. Plan around the fact that Friends shipped in this October update even if older public roadmap pages still describe a later friends milestone.

Players who held The Coin in collection UI

The Coin was only a second-player balance boost, not a collectible. Plan decks without it, and wait for the Beta mana-boost cards with extra effects; the studio has not set a release date.

Deck builders watching upgrades

Use the announced Awakened-through-Eternal ladder and Spell/Minion choices when you plan upgrades. Check the live upgrade UI before you spend in-game EWA Points or fuse stacks. Account Level 10 enables Card Minting, as announced (no contract named).

Collectors

This update does not announce a new collection drop, contract, or marketplace listing. The Coin’s removal is a design clarification for a non-collectible balance card. Watch later Beta card notes before pricing any mana-boost replacement.

What to watch next

  • Live Profile and Friends UI after you relaunch the browser client
  • Dated notes naming the Beta mana-boost cards and their extra effects
  • Whether EARTHwise mirrors this ship on @Earthwisegames (opens in new tab) or refreshes public roadmap copy that still points friends features at a later Beta milestone
  • Follow-up detail on card-upgrade choices and the Account Level 10 minting gate in first-party docs

Bottom line: Open Profile Customization and Friends in the live client, then try a Private Match when you want a controlled duel. Treat The Coin’s disappearance as design cleanup ahead of undated Beta mana-boost cards, and check upgrade costs and the Account Level 10 minting gate in-client before you spend on the Awakened-to-Eternal path.
