Ronin Honor Score and Proof of Distribution: $40K+ to builders, reputation next
Ronin is publishing early results from Proof of Distribution (PoD) and outlining Honor Score, a chain-level reputation layer planned for later in 2026. Builders already received more than $40,000 worth of RON across the first two monthly seasons, while players have started using the PoD leaderboard as a discovery map for live Ronin games. Exact Honor Score weights are not public yet, so treat the system as a roadmap signal until the dashboard ships.
Background
After Ronin’s May 2026 move to an Ethereum L2 and emissions cut, new RON rewards shifted toward registered builders rather than passive staking. Prior context: Ronin on Ethereum L2. This update covers what PoD has paid so far, how players use the board, and what Honor Score plus Q3 governance mean if you already play Axie Infinity: Origins, Pixels, Craft World, or other Ronin titles.
Ronin appears in the catalog as both a platform hub and a network. Gas remains RON.
What happened
Proof of Distribution seasons (from May 14, 2026)
BlockchainGamerBiz (opens in new tab) reports PoD launched May 14, 2026. Games and apps earn points from smart-contract activity (including transaction count and gas). Points convert into RON at the end of each month-long season. By the time of that write-up, the program was into its third season.
Early payout figures from that coverage:
| Recipient (reported) | Approx. RON rewards (USD value cited) |
|---|---|
| Axie Infinity | Over $15,000 |
| Craft World (Yoya / Angry Dynomites) | About $10,500 |
| Ragnarok Landverse America | About $6,600 |
| Pixels | About $4,800 |
| First two seasons total | Over 780,000 RON, worth over $40,000 |
GAMES.GG (opens in new tab) (July 27, 2026) likewise frames the $40,000+ figure as recurring, activity-based builder pay rather than a one-off grant headline.
Ronin’s own Ecosystem Update (opens in new tab) (July 10, 2026) said Season 1 alone distributed over 410,000 RON, with Axie Infinity taking the lead at over 97,000 RON, and Gas Infinity plus Craft World each earning roughly one-third of Axie’s Season 1 share. Ragnarok and Pixels also ranked strongly. The same post notes Sybil-style farming attempts and ongoing weighting fixes so the public board better matches real contribution.
Discovery side effect
Both the Ronin blog and BlockchainGamerBiz highlight that players browse the PoD leaderboard to find games they did not already play. Sky Mavis says it wants richer project pages, better discovery, and community-driven features around that habit.
Honor Score (later 2026)
The Ronin Ecosystem Update (opens in new tab) describes Honor Score as a unified reputation layer for users. Planned inputs include:
- Onchain activity across Ronin
- Applications used
- Asset holdings
- Wallet age and retention
- Network position / ecosystem participation
The first concrete use case is to weight PoD toward long-term participants instead of raw wallet counts, which should make builder rewards harder to farm with throwaway accounts. Seasonal Honor points are meant to unlock further benefits over time. BlockchainGamerBiz’s Honor Score write-up (opens in new tab) places launch later in 2026 and notes that exact weightings are not published yet.
Governance and treasury (roadmap)
From the same July 10 Ronin post:
- A Governance Dashboard is expected in Q3 2026 for voting on eligible ecosystem initiatives.
- The treasury is set to receive about 90 million RON from the former staking-reward allocation, taking holdings above 100 million RON (Ronin cites more than 10% of supply).
- Longer term, Honor-linked users may redeem points for treasury assets at a discount under rules still to be defined.
Ronin also cited OpenSea ranking stats in that post (6 of the top 15 gaming NFT collections by recent volume, 5 of the top 10 by total sales on Ronin). Treat those as studio-cited context, not a live floor tracker.
Who it affects
Players
You do not claim PoD RON as an individual player. Studios do. What you can do now:
- Use the public PoD leaderboard as a discovery list for active Ronin games.
- Keep playing across multiple Ronin apps if you care about a future Honor profile (wallet age, retention, and multi-app use are listed signals).
- Do not assume a high Honor Score is live in any game UI today.
Collectors and RON holders
Holding assets may feed Honor Score later, but weights are unpublished. PoD itself pays builders, not passive holders. Prior L2 migration coverage already noted the end of the old staking-emissions path for individuals. Check RON catalog notes for gas and network context only; this is not a price forecast.
Studios building on Ronin
Register contracts and track monthly seasons if you want PoD share. Expect Sybil filters and, later, Honor-weighted participation to change who “counts” as real activity. Follow Ronin docs (opens in new tab) and the Ronin blog (opens in new tab) for season parameters.

Bottom line: Use the PoD board to find active Ronin games this month, and treat Honor Score as a late-2026 reputation layer whose formula is still unpublished. Do not expect personal RON streaming from PoD unless you are a registered builder.
