Upland property decorate first look: drag-and-drop after Troves
Upland published a first look at a new way to decorate and develop properties on its event page (opens in new tab) dated October 6, 2026. The preview is aimed at after Troves go live. It is a work-in-progress, not part of the Troves release, and the interface may still change.
The direction is simple: select a property, scroll map assets along the bottom of the screen, then drag and drop them into place. Upland is also exploring dragging map assets off a property back into the wallet.
Background
Upland is a wallet-optional city-builder on a real-world map from Uplandme. Day-to-day play runs in client; SPARKLET and property layers sit on Ethereum and Base when you opt in. Soft currencies such as UPX stay in-game only.
Property decor is how players mark space on the map. Upland’s event page (opens in new tab) says current decorating tools were built for Upland 1.0 and frames this preview as catching those tools up. Troves is still the near-term chapter, and Harvest kickoff Visual Upgrade phase one already shipped Settings visual quality early for that chapter. This article covers the separate decorate UI first look planned for after Troves.
What happened
First look after Troves, not inside the Troves drop
On October 6, 2026, Upland published Your Property. Your Vision. A Whole New Way to Build. (opens in new tab). The official Upland Discord (opens in new tab) pointed players at a YouTube First Look (opens in new tab) titled A Whole New Way to Decorate Your Upland Properties | First Look (about five minutes; channel Upland).
The event page is explicit: Troves are close, but this is another feature for after Troves go live. It is a work-in-progress preview, not part of the Troves release. Interface and features shown may change before release. Do not treat the video or page as a ship date.
Drag-and-drop from a bottom asset tray
The experience under development puts map assets at your fingertips. Per the event page:
- Select your property
- Scroll through assets along the bottom of the screen
- Drag and drop them into place
Upland’s framing is less menu navigation and more placing pieces on the lot. Treat that flow as the studio’s direction for the preview, not as a live client toggle today.
Exploring return-to-wallet
Upland says it is exploring something new: dragging map assets off the property and back into the wallet, so you can rethink space and keep creating. The page does not list which asset classes will support that at launch. Until Upland hard-states the set, treat wallet return as an explore topic, not a launch promise.
Where to read and watch
- Event page (primary prose): Your Property. Your Vision. A Whole New Way to Build. (opens in new tab)
- Video First Look (same embed id

Upland also asks players to share the preview with friends who have been away. That is the studio’s community CTA, not Web3Raider advice.
Who it affects
Players
If you decorate lots today, watch for a post-Troves client path that favors a bottom asset tray and drag-and-drop placement. Expect the UI to shift while it is WIP. Do not plan inventory moves around wallet return until Upland names which assets support it. Prefer upland.me and the official Upland Discord (opens in new tab) over third-party “early decorate access” links.
Collectors and builders
Map assets and property presentation are the point of this preview. SPARKLET is the franchise on-chain utility token; this announce does not add a new prize ladder or token claim. Keep this beat separate from the Harvest Collector Score climb and from Settings-side Visual Upgrade phase one.

What to watch next
- Live wording on the decorate first-look event page (opens in new tab) if Upland hardens ship timing or wallet-return asset rules
- Troves go-live confirmation (this decorate UI stays fenced as post-Troves)
- Official Upland Discord (opens in new tab) and upland.me only for “early access” or claim-style prompts
- The YouTube First Look (opens in new tab) for studio visuals; prefer the event page when prose and video framing diverge
Bottom line: Treat the October 6 preview as a post-Troves decorate direction (bottom-tray drag-and-drop, exploring wallet return), keep it out of the Troves drop checklist, and wait for a dated ship note plus a clear wallet-return asset list before rearranging inventory around it.
