Upland Troves go live October 22: banking and launch weekend competition
Troves went live in Upland on October 22, 2026 as the first beta release of a phased rollout. The opening batch brings 189 unique Troves, Trove Banking at Bronze and Silver, and Upland Progression. Wallet-held Block Explorer stamina sets how much you can collect from one shared stamina pool. Crafting recipes are not available at launch.
Background
Upland is a wallet-optional city-builder on a real-world map from Uplandme. Day-to-day play runs in the game client. SPARKLET and property ownership live on Ethereum and Base when you opt in. Soft currencies such as UPX and STEM stay in-game only.
Troves are the shared collect-and-craft layer Upland has been rolling toward through plant life on properties and Service Structures. Banking permanently deposits Troves into the Trove Vault so you can advance Progression. The October 15 Troves update covered the two-week countdown to launch and earlier Block Explorer stamina rules before October 22.
What happened
Troves, Banking, and Progression go live
Upland's Troves Go Live Today guide (opens in new tab) describes October 22 as the first beta release. The page does not publish a launch time of day. @UplandMe (opens in new tab) also posted that Troves are now live.
The first release includes 189 unique Troves, Trove Banking at Bronze and Silver, and Upland Progression (banking is the primary way to advance at launch). Block Explorer stamina powers collection through one shared global pool. New Troves, recipes, and higher banking tiers arrive at regular intervals over the coming weeks. Over 500 Troves are being prepared across the rollout. Mechanics and rewards may change during beta.
To collect, move a Block Explorer near a Service Structure or plant, then press and hold (a tap opens details). Cooldowns apply per player and per object. If you press and hold an object that is still on cooldown for you, the result can be Trove Dust instead of another regular find, and that attempt still uses stamina. Collecting from structures or plants you own can improve chances of rarer Troves. Open the Trove Wallet from the Troves icon on the map. Banking is a permanent deposit into the Trove Vault. Banked Troves cannot be withdrawn, returned to spendable inventory, or used in recipes.

Block Explorer stamina at launch
Every player has a free baseline of 100 stamina. Wallet-held Block Explorers add to one shared pool that refills every six hours. No explorer needs to be equipped. Transfer does not reset stamina already spent. Launch stamina values by edition size run from 1,000 on eligible 1-of-1s down to 10 on 500+ editions. Director Explorers and certain event-reward explorers sit at 125. Little Frights and Troves After Dark explorers get 150, outside the normal edition-size band. Recipe structures in the store; functionality later
On October 15, 2026, Upland announced (opens in new tab) three Service Structures: STEM Foundry, UPX Mint, and Sparklet Refinery. They arrived in the Upland Store that day. The store price is now $14.99 (the first-24-hours $9.99 window after that announcement is over). Trove-powered functionality comes later. In the future, players will exchange Troves through special recipes at these structures for STEM, UPX, and SPARKLET. Recipes, exchange amounts, and activation details will be revealed after Troves launch. Any player will be able to use these structures for that exchange. Using your own gives "a chance at better returns," in Upland's wording.
Troves After Dark sale window
Troves After Dark 2026 is a six-design Block Explorer series. Each design has its own bundle at $20. The bundle includes 20,000 UPX and the chosen Block Explorer. Supply is 70 mints per design. Each explorer has 150 stamina. The Troves Go Live October 22 page says buying is not required to collect, bank, or progress. The sale runs October 21 through October 25, 2026.
Launch weekend competition
A separate launch weekend competition (opens in new tab) runs from launch through Monday, October 26, 2026, 16:00 UTC. Eligible game activity counts automatically. There is no entry form. A player can rank on both leaderboards. The page puts the total prize pool at up to 1.75 million UPX.
Trove Collectors ranks by total individual Troves collected from structures and plants (duplicates count). Dust, opening inventory, promotional or administrative grants, quiz rewards, and purchased packs do not count. Banking never reduces the Trove Collectors score.
Trove Bankers scores 1 point per Bronze-banked Trove type and 3 per Silver-banked type. Only the highest tier per type counts. Bronze to Silver on a type adds 2 points.
UPX prizes are the same ladder for each leaderboard:

Every top-25 finisher gets one badge for that leaderboard (Troves Launch Weekend: Collector or Banker). A participation draw covers up to 50 qualifying players without a top-25 prize on either board, for 10,000 UPX each (or 2,000 each if fewer than 50 qualify). Qualify by collecting at least 10 eligible non-Dust Troves on each of two different Pacific Time (PT) calendar dates and reaching Bronze on at least three distinct eligible Trove types.

Collectors and property owners
Collect the first 189 Troves, bank into Bronze or Silver, and advance Progression without waiting for recipes. Prefer structures or plants you own when you want better odds on rarer Troves. Decide carefully before banking: those Troves leave spendable inventory for good.
Block Explorer holders and launch weekend players
Plan collecting around the free baseline of 100 plus wallet-held explorers, with the shared pool refilling every six hours. Use the Troves Go Live Today guide for the edition-size stamina ladder and the 150-stamina Little Frights and Troves After Dark figures.
