Axie DoM 2.0 Update: $1 Keys and Reborn prizes to Oct 22

Onchain Heroes shipped Axie: Den of Mysteries 2.0 on September 10, 2026, published through The Lunacian⁠ (opens in new tab). The Ronin dungeon crawler now runs as a turn-based roguelike with $1 Keys (down from $2), a fixed end boss (Kilnbane on floor 10), and the DoM: Reborn launch event through October 22, 2026.

You only need a Ronin Wallet at axiedom.xyz⁠ (opens in new tab). No Axie NFT is required to start a run.

Background

Axie Infinity: Den of Mysteries sits in the Axie lineup on Ronin. Onchain Heroes built the first DoM loop around short key-gated runs, Treasure toward a weekly USDC pool, and optional Blessings when a werewolf boss spawned. That 1.0 shape is what 2.0 replaces.

DoM 2.0 keeps the self-funded Key economy and weekly USDC share, but every clear path now ends at Kilnbane, Talent builds matter across the run, and a progressive Throne pool sits beside the weekly payout. AXS is one of the Key payment options alongside USDC, RON, and WETH. RON is the gas token on Ronin.

What happened

Rebuild and run loop

Per The Lunacian DoM 2.0 live post⁠ (opens in new tab) (September 10, 2026):

• Connect a Ronin Wallet, buy Keys, enter the Lobby hub, then take the stone portal into a run.
• Each run spans 10 floors: nine procedural floors across biomes, then Kilnbane on floor 10.
• You start with 100 Stamina. Movement costs Stamina; attacks do not. Defeating enemies and collecting orbs levels you up, restores Stamina, and opens Talent choices (five slots on levels 1–5), then Enhancements from level 6.
• A typical run lasts about 10–15 minutes on desktop or mobile.
• You can pause mid-run and resume before the weekly reset. Anything still open at Thursday 4:00 PM UTC finalizes automatically, forfeits uncut Blessing Gems, and skips the Throne roll.

Keys and prize pools

Keys are the entry ticket at $1 each (previously $2). One Key starts a run; you can spend up to 100. More Keys multiply Treasure yield, Blessing payouts, and Throne odds. The post’s example: 100 Treasure on 1 Key becomes 500 Treasure on 5 Keys.

Each Key spent funds three player-facing pools (plus a development cut):

Defeating Kilnbane also gives a 12% chance at a Blessing Gem. After the run you cut it for a multiplier from 0.5x to 21x on your Key buy-in. Payout scales with Keys spent (example in the post: a 100-Key buy-in on a 21x cut pays 2,100 USDC).

Throne and Stella

Stella is framed as the rarest DoM reward. The only path is the Throne roll:

1. Reach floor 10 and defeat Kilnbane.
2. Finish the run (leave the boss lair). Open runs at Thursday reset do not roll.
3. Every completed Full Clear rolls once. Hit it and you take 80% of the Throne pool plus the soulbound Stella skin.

Odds rise with Keys spent and Throne size. On a $2,500 Throne, the post cites about 1 in 2,000 for a 1-Key run versus about 1 in 20 for a 100-Key run. DoM: Reborn launch event

The launch event runs September 10 to October 22, 2026, opening and closing at 4:00 PM UTC, with $6,000+ in prizes:

Raffle draws are scheduled for September 24, October 8, and October 22 (five winners each). Winners are announced on the Axie: Den of Mysteries X account. Tickets left in inventory do not enter the draw.

Who it affects

Players jumping in without Axies

If you already hold a Ronin Wallet, you can buy a Key and learn the Talent loop without minting or buying an Axie first. Plan around the Thursday 4:00 PM UTC reset so open runs do not forfeit Throne eligibility or uncut Gems.

Key spenders and weekly grinders

Higher Key stacks raise Treasure, Blessings, and Throne odds, but they also raise the cash you put into each run. Treat the published pool splits and Gem odds as the ruleset; they are not a forecast of your return.

Shard hunters and raffle players

Shards are uncapped and cumulative across the six-week Reborn window. Raffle tickets only count after you enter them on the Lobby board before each draw date.

AXS and Ronin users

You can pay Keys in AXS, USDC, RON, or WETH. Leaderboard AXS is event prize allocation, not a change to how transferable AXS trades on Ronin.
