Critters Quest Live update: walk system for raids and hunts
Critters Quest replaced instant town raids and monster hunts with marching on October 16, 2026. Squads walk to the target and the fight resolves on arrival. The same day, World Bank Round 5 opened at 15:00 UTC with Gravitax at 2 million HP and 50,000 XP split among everyone who hits him.
This article follows our September 26 Season 2 update.
Background
Critters Quest is Paradice Tech's browser 4X on Solana. You run a town, send squads, and spend QUEST on fees and rewards inside the loop. Play sits at game.critters.quest (opens in new tab).
Season 2 opened the World Bank on October 8. The Bank is not always open. It opens every two days at 15:00 UTC, stays open for four hours, then closes until the next window. Season 2 also added a 1 million QUEST shard championship and staking perks aimed at newer rosters. @crittersquest (opens in new tab) said the walk system for PvP and monster hunts lands the same way it already works at the Bank and Gravitax: your squad marches, and the fight happens when it arrives.
Our September order-book update covered resource trading only.
What happened
Town raids march
On October 16, 2026, Paradice posted in the official Critters Quest Discord (opens in new tab) that every attack walks to its target.
Town raids march at 120 seconds per tile. Town speed, same zone, boots, and staking perks can make that march up to 95% faster. The fight happens when the squad arrives, against whoever is defending at that moment.
There is no QUEST fee to send. You can recall any time before arrival. Your own shield drops as soon as you send. You cannot raid a shielded town. If the target shields before you arrive, the raid is cancelled and your squad walks home. Defenders see an incoming-raid banner with the arrival time.
Monster hunts
Squads walk to monsters at 10 seconds per tile, there and back, and fight wherever the monster is when they arrive. You can only send if your squad can reach the monster before it leaves. If the monster dies or escapes first, your squad turns back. No fee. You can recall before arrival.
Crit potions
Crit potions raise a critter's base crit chance by a percentage. A critter with 0 base crit gets nothing from potions. Gear crit still adds on top.
World Bank Round 5
On October 16, 2026, @crittersquest (opens in new tab) posted that the World Bank was open, Gravitax was at 2 million HP with 50,000 XP, and the walk system was landing that day for PvP and monster hunts. The same day's Discord post put Gravitax up from 750,000 HP, with the XP split among everyone who hits him. Round 5 opened at 15:00 UTC.
Capture shield on every seat take
The same October 16 Discord post changes Bank seat takes. Every seat take gets the full 5-minute capture shield. A challenge that would land inside that shield is cancelled and the squad turns back. The challenge fee is not refunded.
Who it affects
Raiders and defenders
If you send a town raid, budget the march. 120 seconds per tile is the base; town speed, same zone, boots, and staking perks can cut that by up to 95%. The fight is against the roster that is defending when you land, not the roster you clicked. You can recall before arrival. Your own shield drops on send, so plan for a counter-raid while you are in the field. Defenders get an incoming-raid banner with an arrival time; raising a shield before that arrival cancels the raid.
Hunters
Monster hunts take 10 seconds per tile both ways. Only send if you can arrive before the monster leaves. If the monster dies or escapes first, your squad turns back. There is no send fee, and you can recall on the way.
World Bank squads
Round 5's Gravitax is 2 million HP, with 50,000 XP split among everyone who lands a hit. If you take the seat, you get the full 5-minute capture shield. Do not send a challenge that would land inside that window: the squad turns back and the fee is not refunded.
Crit potion users
Check base crit before you spend potions. 0 base crit gains nothing. Gear crit still stacks on top of whatever base crit you have.
Collectors
Critter NFT access and secondary sales are unchanged by this combat update. The change is how squads move and how fights resolve, not how Masters or Clones list.

What to watch next
- The World Bank opens every two days at 15:00 UTC for four hours, per the Season 2 update.
- Prefer the live client at game.critters.quest (opens in new tab). The docs have not yet been updated, and no patch notes page was posted with this change.
- @crittersquest (opens in new tab) and the official Critters Quest Discord (opens in new tab) for later Bank windows.
Bottom line: Time the march before you send a raid or a hunt, and treat your town as unshielded the moment a raid goes out. On Bank days, do not spend a challenge fee on a hit that would land inside the new 5-minute capture shield. Check the live client; the docs have not yet been updated.
