Critters Quest Season 2 update: World Bank windows, 1M QUEST championship, staking perks
On September 26, 2026, Paradice said in the official Critters Quest Discord (opens in new tab) that Season 2 starts October 8 with a controllable World Bank, a 1,000,000 QUEST Shard Championship, and new staking and boosting perks aimed at newer players. If you run towns on Solana, the post is your schedule for every-other-day bank windows at 11AM Eastern, shard income, and season-end leaderboard points tied to QUEST earned on shards.
Background
Critters Quest is Paradice Tech’s browser 4X at game.critters.quest (opens in new tab). Squads raid, gather, and hold towns while QUEST pays fees and rewards inside the loop. Our September order-book update covered resource trading only; this post is Season 2 PvE and PvP around the World Bank and shards, not marketplace rails.
The studio framed Season 2 as the moment the World Bank becomes a contested objective with clearer paths for smaller rosters.
What happened
Season 2 start and new-player perks
Season 2 starts October 8, Paradice said. New staking and boosting perks go live with the season. The post described them as tools so newer players can catch up faster and compete from day one instead of trailing all season. It did not list perk tiers, rates, or caps.
World Bank windows and payout split
Every second day at 11AM Eastern, the World Bank opens for four hours. Each window pays 2% of everything the Bank holds, split four ways:
| Share | Recipient |
|---|---|
| 50% | Whoever holds the Bank |
| 30% | Boss damage |
| 10% | Killing blow |
| 10% | Shards |
Step 1: Guardian raid
A 1 million HP guardian blocks the Bank. Towns send squads; each hit removes the squad’s ATK from the boss, pays a QUEST share for that damage on the spot, and grants XP.
- Hits are two minutes apart per critter.
- Hit fees rise: 5 QUEST for your first five hits, then 10, 20, 40, capped at 80 QUEST.
- If the boss still stands after one hour, it takes triple damage.
Step 2: Shards and claiming the seat
The killing blow earns the 10% bounty. Then 50 shards of random sizes scatter around the Bank for one hour.
The bank seat starts empty. For the first three minutes, only the top damage dealer can claim it. Then the top two can claim. Then anyone can. Claiming walks a squad in as your garrison.
Step 3: Hold and defend
While you hold the Bank you earn QUEST every second. Your garrison is committed: it can be healed and repaired, but not moved, mined with, or raided with.
Anyone can challenge you in a normal 4v4 for 10 QUEST and a full CT (the squad slot the announce charges for the fight). Only a decisive win takes the seat:
- A wipe, or
- An HP win with more than half their HP left
Damage on your garrison persists. Each critter gets 10% weaker per fight after its second, down to half strength. After half the window, the Bank ejects you. If you leave early by choice, your payout drops from 90% to 81%.
Shards and Shard Championship
Stand a squad on a shard to earn its QUEST every second.
- Small shards are for small squads only.
- Grabbing a free shard costs nothing.
- Contesting a held shard is a fight and costs the attacker CT.
- If you are knocked off, you keep what you already earned.
- Hold to the end and the shard locks.
On top of live shard pay, Paradice added a 1,000,000 QUEST Shard Championship pool. Every 1 QUEST you earn from a shard is 1 point. At season end the pool splits pro rata by share of points (for example, 5% of all shard points earns 5% of the pool). Bigger shards pay more per second, so they earn points faster. Small-squad shards are meant to give newer players a leaderboard path.
Claims and championship payout
World Bank and shard earnings pile up under your wallet. You can claim any time with a 10% levy; 90% goes straight to your wallet. The post said there is no vesting and no daily claim limit on those claims.
For the championship pool, Paradice wrote that payout at season end goes [to your town bank / claimable to wallet] without picking one path in the same message.
Who it affects
Players
Mark October 8 and the every-other-day 11AM Eastern bank rhythm. Budget QUEST for guardian hit fees (up to 80 QUEST per hit at the cap) and for 4v4 challenges (10 QUEST plus a full CT). Plan garrison downtime: you cannot mine or raid with the squad holding the seat.
Shard play is a double track: per-second QUEST while you stand on a shard, plus championship points that stack toward the 1M QUEST season-end split. Smaller squads should weigh small shards before contesting large ones.
Collectors
Critter NFT access and secondary sales are unchanged by this Season 2 rules post. The update changes in-season QUEST sinks and contests, not how Master or Clone listings work on marketplaces.
QUEST holders
The post describes fee sinks (hit fees, challenge costs, claim levy) and large seasonal pools (2% of bank holdings per window, 1M QUEST championship). That is gameplay economics, not a price call. Use The Auditor (opens in new tab) if you track supply reads, and treat prize pools as contest rules rather than investment promises.

Bottom line: Block October 8, then plan around 11AM ET bank days: raid fees, shard squads, and whether you chase the seat or farm small shards for championship points. Wait for a firm payout path before you bank on where the 1M QUEST pool lands at season end.
