Gigaverse pauses after The Awakening: Gigling Racing goes offchain, ROMs and Giglings leave Abstract
Gigaverse is paused after The Awakening closed on October 9, 2026, 18:00 UTC. Gigling Racing is moving offchain. ROMs and Giglings must leave Abstract before December 15, 2026.
This article follows Gigaverse End of The Awakening: Eternal carry, web pause, ROM migration, Abstract winding down: migrate assets before December 15 2026, and Gigaverse Burn Pit open: item burns for Hard Cores until Oct 5. Those articles do not cover offchain racing, the Giglings and Names migration, or the redemption plan.
The September 30 coverage said (opens in new tab) Gigling racing would stay online; the studio has since paused it and is moving it offchain.
Background
Gigaverse is GLHF's paid-entry browser RPG on Abstract. Players ran dungeon loops, craft and fishing, raised Giglings, and traded on Gigamarket through The Awakening finale toward Gigaverse Online.
Official product rules for the close sit on the Awakening FAQ (opens in new tab). The checklist (opens in new tab) states that The Awakening has ended and Gigaverse is paused.
What happened
The Awakening closed October 9; Gigaverse is paused
The FAQ (opens in new tab) states that The Awakening ends and Gigaverse closes on Friday, October 9, 2026, 18:00 UTC. After the close, the game is paused.
Stopped with the close:
- Play loops: dungeons, fishing, conquest
- Progression and deals: feeding, faction changes, bounty / Hard Cores deals
- Access and economy: Juice sales (bought Juice pauses until Gigaverse Online), new accounts, Noob and Name minting, marketplace trading
- Pets and transfers: Gigling Racing and Dueling; exports and imports
Gigling Racing paused and moving offchain
In a Gigaverse Discord game-updates post ahead of the close, the studio said Gigling Racing would pause at the October 9, 2026, 18:00 UTC cutoff. Initially, racing had been planned to stay live on Abstract for a short stretch after the close, but after Abstract's shutdown announce (opens in new tab) (December 15, 2026 wind-down), the studio said it is pulling racing off that chain sooner than planned. Gigling Racing will come back later as an offchain game mode, to lower barriers for new players. Migration details for bringing it back were promised in a separate announcement.
The same FAQ (opens in new tab) lists Gigling Racing and Dueling among what stops at the close. Racing items stay in inventory. Both modes return later in a simplified and rebalanced form, described as a mode new players can pick up.
Hatching paused; Juiced Biofuel and Incubes converted
Per the FAQ (opens in new tab), hatches that were still in progress paused when the Burn Pit closed. Their progress is saved, so you can continue those hatches later in a simplified web form. Ready eggs could still hatch until the close. If you were Juiced at Burn Pit close, Biofuel and Incubes were automatically converted back into source materials and burned in the Burn Pit.
Eternal items, Chronodisc import, Seasonal cut
When the game closed, the Temporal Backup Process scanned Eternal items per wallet, per the FAQ (opens in new tab). After you create a Gigaverse Online account and sign with your wallet, you can import that backup into a Chronodisc. Each Online account can import only one legacy Gigaverse account. Seasonal items end at the close of The Awakening, except Cash-Out Items. Racing items stay in inventory and do not move to Gigaverse Online.
Prize redemptions planned
On October 9, 2026, Gigaverse posted (opens in new tab) that the team is bringing legacy contracts down, auditing event results, readying redemptions, and launching Hall of Noobs v1 for the event leaderboard. That post said (opens in new tab) the team aims to get prize redemptions open the following week as soon as possible and will announce them once they open. Official posts through October 15, 2026 did not announce that redemptions had opened. Redemptions remained planned as of that check.
The FAQ (opens in new tab) lists planned Redeem-page rules while Gigaverse is paused:
- GIGABIT: redeemable for USDC at 0.95 USDC per 100 GIGABIT (Juiced rate for every player while paused)
- In-game USDC: redeemable 1:1
- Hard Cores above the minimum threshold: a USDC gacha on gigaverse.io (more details to follow)
- The Redeem page returns shortly; Hall of Noobs v1 follows
That October 9 post also said (opens in new tab) gigaverse.io will keep updating during downtime before Gigaverse Online launch. No Online launch date was published in these sources.
Abstract exit: ROMs to Ethereum; Giglings and Names off Abstract before December 15
On October 6, 2026, Gigaverse posted (opens in new tab) that Abstract Chain is shutting down December 15, and that the Gigaverse ROMs collection is preparing to migrate to Ethereum mainnet (announced in August). Migration will happen before Abstract shuts down; details were promised soon. The same post said (opens in new tab) the Giglings collection will also migrate off Abstract, with details shared separately.
The October 9 downtime post repeated (opens in new tab) that ROMs and Giglings migration details and how-to will come in a separate announcement before the December 15, 2026 shutdown.
The FAQ (opens in new tab) adds that plans are underway for a streamlined migration of Gigaverse assets on Abstract, including Giglings, ROMs, and Gigaverse Names; GIGABIT and Cash-Out Items will be redeemable on Ethereum mainnet; ROMs stay in wallet for now and ROMs 2.0 will move them to Ethereum. No destination chain was stated for Giglings in these sources.
Your Giganame stays reserved for 3 months after Gigaverse Online opens; claiming requires signing with the wallet that holds the Giganame NFT. No Online open date was published here.
Who it affects
Active Gigaverse players
The legacy client is paused. Use the FAQ (opens in new tab) and checklist (opens in new tab) for backup visibility and Stay connected. Watch Gigaverse on X (opens in new tab) and gigaverse.io (opens in new tab) for Redeem-page opening and Hall of Noobs v1.
Gigling racers
Racing and dueling are paused. Racing items stay in inventory. Expect a later offchain return with simplified, rebalanced rules; migration how-to still to come.

ROMs are planned to move to Ethereum mainnet before December 15, 2026. Giglings and Gigaverse Names are also in the Abstract-exit migration plan. Hold for the separate how-to announce; migrate before Abstract's December 15 shutdown. Giglings' destination chain was not stated in these sources.
Prize and Cash-Out holders
GIGABIT, in-game USDC, holiday gift boxes, and other Cash-Out Items stay for the Redeem page (planned rates above). Hard Cores above the minimum threshold feed a planned USDC gacha. Those redemptions stay planned until the studio announces they have opened.
Juiced players with hatching mats at close
Biofuel and Incube auto-convert and Burn Pit burn already applied at close per the FAQ. Paused hatches keep recorded progress for the later simplified hatch flow.
