Gigaverse Burn Pit open: item burns for Hard Cores until Oct 5

GLHF opened the Burn Pit in Gigaverse on September 21, 2026. For about two weeks, Juiced accounts can burn eligible inventory into Hard Cores for The Awakening. Each item type has its own 300,000 Hard Core pool, and your share of that item's burns settles when the pit closes on October 5, 2026 at 18:00 UTC.

Background

Gigaverse is GLHF's paid-entry browser RPG on Abstract. You clear dungeon runs, fish and craft between fights, raise Giglings, and trade on Gigamarket. Giga Juice is the timed premium power-up that pays 4× Hard Cores on the earn paths covered in The Awakening go-live. For the Burn Pit, Juice is a hard gate: you must be Juiced to burn at all.

The Awakening is the multi-week finale before a planned downtime and Gigaverse Online. Studio pre-launch messaging framed the event roughly August 10 through October 12, 2026. This article follows The Awakening how it works and Awakening go-live with the final-phase inventory sink. Those pieces listed forest loops, quests, and item turn-ins as Hard Core paths. The Burn Pit adds fixed close timing a few days before the competition ends.

What happened

Burn Pit open on X and Discord

On September 21, 2026, @playgigaverse (opens in new tab) posted that the Burn Pit is open. The same day, GLHF announced in the official GLHF Discord (opens in new tab) that the pit is the final phase of the competition: open for the next two weeks, then closed a few days before the event ends.

Parent-thread rules from that X post:

  • Burn eligible items to earn Hard Cores
  • Every eligible item has its own pool of 300,000 Hard Cores
  • Your payout equals your share of that item's total burns
  • You must be Juiced to burn
  • Hard Cores are delivered after the pit closes

Separate pools and the share formula

Follow-up posts in the same thread spell out how pools work. Pools for different items do not combine, transfer, or roll over. Example: if you burn 10% of all Low Crit Oil the community turns in, you receive 10% of that item's pool (30,000 Hard Cores).

Cores are not paid when you click Burn. The burn locks your contribution, but the live percentage on the dashboard moves whenever anyone else burns the same item. The studio formula is:

final share = your burns / total burns at close

You receive Cores only after close (and after review).

Timeline: close, review, distribution

StepTiming
Burn Pit closesOctober 5, 2026, 2:00 PM EDT (18:00 UTC)
ReviewStarts right after close; studio verifies burns, Juiced status, and pool totals
DistributionHard Cores sent once review finishes

Rules summary

From the thread wrap-up:

  • You must be Juiced to use the Burn Pit
  • Burns are final (no refunds, returns, or swaps)
  • Only burns completed before the close deadline count
  • Rewards are rounded down to the nearest whole Hard Core; remainders are not paid out

The in-client Burn Pit tab lists eligible stacks with Max / Burn controls and a projected Cores readout. Check that live tab for which items qualify; the thread UI examples include gear and shards such as Crusader Shard, Archon pieces, and Aetherion parts.

Who it affects

Players

If you already grind The Awakening, the Burn Pit is the last major way to convert stockpiled items into Hard Cores before October 5. Keep Juice active for the whole window you plan to burn. Because shares settle only at close, early burns can be diluted if others dump the same item later. Prefer items where you can take a meaningful share of the community total, not only absolute quantity.

If you are not Juiced, you cannot use the pit. Forest dungeon, fishing, quests, and any weekly Hard Core deals remain separate earn paths while The Awakening is still open after the pit closes.

Collectors

Gigaverse Items and related craft materials sit closest to this sink. Burning destroys inventory permanently, so weigh Hall of Noobs progress against keep-for-craft or market value before Max-burning deep stacks. ROMs and Giglings are not the Burn Pit UI focus in the announce thread; check the live Burn Pit tab before assuming a collection maps 1:1 into eligible burn items.

What to watch next

Bottom line: If you are Juiced and hold burnable stacks, decide item by item before October 5, 18:00 UTC, knowing pools settle as percentages at close and burns do not reverse.
