Illuvium Arena XP Boosts: stop-sale Sep 17, Dec 31 cutoff, refund rules
On September 7, 2026, Illuvium posted in the official Illuvium Discord (opens in new tab) that it is winding down the current standalone XP Boost offers in the Illuvium: Arena shop. Stop-sale is September 17, 2026, 00:00 UTC. Purchased boosts cannot extend past December 31, 2026, 00:00 UTC, and Illuvium said it will refund boosts whose duration runs beyond that cutoff.
Background
Arena is Illuvium’s free-to-start Gauntlet auto-battler on Immutable. You field Illuvials in eight-player free-for-alls. Gauntlet is free-to-start without NFT ownership. Leviathan is the mode where owned Illuvials matter for unique stats and looks. Franchise utility runs through the ILV token.
XP Boosters landed in Arena as a Fuel shop product in early 2026. Portal patch notes for Arena Update 1.17.0.t (opens in new tab) (Date Published February 10, 2026) introduced paid duration packs that raise Illuvial XP gain. A same-day 1.17.1 (opens in new tab) note renamed the tiers from 3x / 7x to +200% / +600% and clarified how stacked duration shows in the UI. Those February Fuel prices are patch-notes figures; check the live shop before you buy.
Illuvium framed the wind-down as prep to integrate XP Boosts more deeply into upcoming Arena features, and said future boost values will be lower as the team prepares for Obelisk Rising. The Discord post did not publish the new multipliers or the feature list.
What happened
Shop wind-down and lower future values
From the September 7 Discord post:
- Current standalone XP Boost offers in the Arena shop are being wound down
- Illuvium emphasized that future XP boosts will have lower boost values ahead of Obelisk Rising
- The change is also framed as preparation for deeper XP Boost use in upcoming Arena features (not named in the post)
Until Illuvium posts a matching Portal News, Dev Blog, or X mirror, treat Discord as the primary channel for this policy.
Key dates
| Milestone | When (UTC) | Player rule |
|---|---|---|
| Announce | September 7, 2026 | Policy live in Discord |
| Stop sale | September 17, 2026, 00:00 | XP Boosts leave the shop after this time |
| Boost cutoff | December 31, 2026, 00:00 | No purchased boost may extend past this date |
| Refunds | For purchases whose duration extends beyond Dec 31, 2026 | Illuvium said it will issue refunds; claim flow not detailed |
Who can still buy, and who keeps running
Discord rules for active and new purchases:
- Active boosts under three months: if your current boost expires before the cutoff, or the total duration is less than three months, it continues as normal until it expires
- New purchases until stop-sale: between the September 7 announce and September 17, you can still buy boosts only if the end date does not exceed the December 31 cutoff
- Past the cutoff window: durations that would run past December 31 are the refund cohort Illuvium called out
The post did not spell out refund currency, percentage, or how to claim. Do not assume Fuel auto-credit until Illuvium publishes steps.
Who it affects
Players
If you use Fuel XP Boosts to level Illuvials for Leviathan or ownership-stat play, treat September 17 as the last shop window under current offers. Before you buy, check that the pack end date fits inside December 31, 2026. After stop-sale, plan progression without the current standalone shop offers until Illuvium shows the replacement boost product.
If you already hold a short active boost (under three months, or one that ends before the cutoff), you do not need to change course for this announce: run it out as normal.
If you previously bought a long pack that would run past December 31, watch Discord and the Illuvium portal (opens in new tab) for refund instructions before you assume Fuel comes back automatically.
Expect lower future boost strength when the next XP Boost product ships. That is a studio signal, not a published rate card.
Collectors
This is a shop and progression policy, not a new Illuvials mint or marketplace rule. Holders who price utility off fast Illuvial leveling should note that paid XP acceleration is being reshaped before Obelisk Rising, not cancelled with a full feature wipe in this post. ILV holders should treat the note as an Arena shop policy change, not a tokenomics change.

What to watch next
- Illuvium Discord or portal (opens in new tab) for refund steps and any shop UI copy that hard-blocks past-cutoff purchases before September 17
- A Portal News mirror if the studio reprints the policy outside Discord
- The next XP Boost product: published values, durations, and Fuel (or other) prices
- Arena feature notes that explain the deeper XP Boost integration teased in the post
- Obelisk Rising channels for whether Arena leveling rules change again around that release
Bottom line: If you still want a current-shop XP Boost, buy before September 17, 2026, 00:00 UTC and keep the end date on or before December 31, 2026; if your pack already runs past that cutoff, wait for Illuvium’s refund instructions instead of stacking more duration.
