Ronin Waypoint sunset: migrate before October 16 or lose access

Ronin said on October 2, 2026 that Ronin Waypoint, keyless wallets, and social login on Ronin will close after October 16. If any NFTs or tokens still sit on a Waypoint (or keyless / social-login) account, migrate them to Ronin Stash or send them to a Ronin Wallet address before that date, or you will lose access (Ronin on X⁠ (opens in new tab)).

Background

Ronin launched Waypoint in 2024 as the social-login / keyless path so players could join without a seed phrase. The same product is also called an MPC wallet, keyless wallet, or social login (Ronin on X⁠ (opens in new tab); same equivalence in the official Ronin Discord⁠ (opens in new tab) on October 1, 2026). RON is the gas token on Ronin.

On June 16, 2026, Ronin announced the move toward Ronin Stash and a multi-month migration window. Web3Raider covered the later September 30 Stash deadline extension. This piece covers the October 16 deadline announced after that window, not the Karst mainnet upgrade on October 7 (node and execution-layer work; no Waypoint migration step).

The Ronin platform is the hub layer for Sky Mavis wallet products on this chain. Ronin Market is the native marketplace many social-login traders used for NFT buys and listings.

What happened

October 16 deadline

On October 1, Ronin said in the official Ronin Discord⁠ (opens in new tab) that it was adding about two weeks after the September 30 deadline. On October 2, Discord and X confirmed the new deadline as October 16: Waypoint / MPC / keyless / social login will be sunset, closed, and not available, so holders should migrate before then or lose access and check for assets still on those accounts (tweet 1/⁠ (opens in new tab); tweet 2/⁠ (opens in new tab)).

Two migration paths

Option 1 (recommended): automated migration to Ronin Stash

1. Open the Ronin Stash migration site⁠ (opens in new tab).
2. Connect your Ronin Waypoint account.
3. Select Ronin Stash.
4. Select the assets to transfer.
5. Click Migrate.

Assets land in a new Ronin Stash account (tweet 3/⁠ (opens in new tab)). Discord matches the same portal URL and “connect Waypoint, select Stash, migrate” framing.

Option 2: manual send to a Ronin Wallet

1. Open wallet.roninchain.com/app/send⁠ (opens in new tab) while logged into Waypoint, keyless, or social login.
2. Choose the asset to transfer.
3. Enter the destination Ronin Wallet address.
4. Send.

If the migration page fails to load, Ronin says to refresh the browser or clear cache (tweet 5/⁠ (opens in new tab)). Reminders continue through Discord, socials, email, and push.

Migration timeline

Discord points readers to tweet 5/⁠ (opens in new tab) for the migration timeline. That post says users have been moving assets for about three months, that Ronin already extended the original three-month deadline, and that some people still missed notifications. It lists prior milestones by date (June 16 announcement through September 28 reminder) and again states: migrate before October 16th or lose access.

October 1 Discord note

The October 1 Discord note also says MPC / social login is the same thing as Waypoint, that social-login wallets must move to Ronin Stash or a Ronin standard seedphrase wallet, and that email and push reminders would repeat during the extension window. That Discord note also said Ronin was working on re-opening Waypoint; the October 2 sunset posts do not repeat that line.

Who it affects

Players

Anyone who signed into Ronin games with Waypoint, keyless, or social login and never moved assets should treat October 16 as a hard calendar date. Keep RON ready for gas on migration signatures. After you land on Stash or a seedphrase Ronin Wallet, reopen each game and check that the same inventory loads under the new login.

If you only ever used a seedphrase Ronin Wallet, the sunset copy targets Waypoint / keyless / social login. Still verify which login type you used before you ignore the portal.

Collectors

NFTs bought or listed while logged in through Waypoint sit on that keyless address until you migrate them. Leaving them past October 16 is a permanent access loss, not a recoverable marketplace dispute. After migration, verify listings and inventory on Ronin Market under Stash or your seedphrase wallet. Secondary trading on other Ronin marketplaces such as OpenSea still needs the destination wallet that actually holds the NFT.
