Calamity Live update: Gold→USDC withdraw and Awakening Dust stat re-rolls
Tempest Labs shipped Calamity client 0.5.2 to Live in early August 2026. Official Discord says clients and the server are updated, so download the latest build before you log in. The same window adds an experimental Gold → USDC Withdraw path on four networks, confirms Gold will not be wiped between seasons, and finally gives Awakening Dust a live sink: stat re-rolls on Awakened gear.
Background
Calamity is a free-to-play 2D action MMORPG from Tempest Labs on Ronin. Class comes from the weapon you equip. Day-to-day play can run without a wallet; Dragon Rings sit beside the loop for cosmetics and optional buffs. The planned WYRM token is not required for this patch.
Gold is Calamity’s soft currency. Recent seasons (including Sunforge) have often framed purchase and Tribute accounting at 100 Gold = 1 USDC, but older playtests used different ratios. Through Sunforge and earlier tests, USDC payouts mostly followed snapshot / Tribute schedules rather than an always-on cash-out button. Gear Awakening went Live as v0.5.1 in late July 2026; that ship produced Awakening Dust from sacrifices but deferred Dust utility. See Calamity Awakening patch goes Live on 0.5.1.
What happened
Per the official Discord 0.5.2 announcement and the player changelog for July 30–August 5, 2026 (opens in new tab):
Gold → USDC Withdraw (Discord)
- Withdraw is live under Premium Features → Withdraw
- Convert in-game Gold to USDC on one of four networks: Ronin, Base, Ethereum, or Abstract
- Minimum withdrawal: 100 Gold
- Current fee: 5 Gold
- Processing: about 3 days on average, up to 7 days maximum
- The system is experimental. Occasional delays may occur. Discord states the 5 Gold fee may increase later
Discord does not publish a separate Withdraw conversion rate in the same announcement. Do not assume a rate from seasonal Tribute pegs until the live Withdraw UI or wiki states one.
Gold persistence (Discord)
- The team will not take end-of-season Gold snapshots or reset Gold balances for wipe purposes
- Gold does not expire and will not be wiped
- Balances carry between seasons and stay untouched during progression wipes
- You can keep Gold in-game or route it through Withdraw when you choose
That policy matters while Sunforge Season still runs toward its August 2026 close: Gold is no longer framed as a seasonal inventory that must be cashed only at snapshot time.
Awakening Dust reforge (Discord + wiki)
- Use Awakening Dust to re-roll stats on Awakened items
- Available from Awakening Level 3 (Awakening III) upward
- Same NPC that handles item Skill re-rolls; wiki names a second Stats tab on the Reforging NPC
- You permanently pick one existing blue (random) prefix slot on that item, then re-roll only that slot
- Each paid roll shows a candidate next to the current value. Choose Keep Current or Accept New. Nothing applies until you pick
- Wiki base Dust prices: 3 Common, 5 Uncommon, 13 Rare, 30 Epic, then +10% per attempt on that item forever (no cap, never resets)
This closes the open loop from the 0.5.1 Live note, where Dust dropped but had no published sink.
QoL and combat (wiki, secondary)
The same changelog window also ships language chat rooms beside Global (Discord asks Global stay English-only), whisper reach fixes, Arena Boar behavior, mobile aim polish, and an Awakening / class balance pass (including Mage frost cast times and several Awakening PvP lines). Those are worth reading on the wiki if you main Arena or frost Mage; they are not the economy story.
Who it affects
Players
Update the launcher to 0.5.2 before you play Live. If you hold Gold from Auction House sales, Season Pass loops, or weekly Tribute distributions, decide whether to bank in-game under the new no-wipe policy or open Premium Features → Withdraw. Treat processing as days, not instant settlement, and treat the fee as mutable.
For Awakened keep gear at level III+, Dust is no longer dead inventory. Plan which blue prefix you lock for reforge before you spend escalating Dust costs. Do not awaken auction or trade pieces unless you accept permanent soulbind from Awakening XP.
Collectors
Dragon Rings and other NFT / Artifact gear remain outside the Awakening sacrifice sink (per prior Live rules). Withdraw destinations on Ronin, Base, Ethereum, and Abstract matter if your USDC already sits on a preferred chain for marketplace or bridge habits. Planned WYRM utility is still separate from this Gold soft-currency path.

What to watch next
- Live Withdraw UI: confirm conversion display, wallet destination rules, and any KYC or Premium gate before you queue large amounts
- Fee changes: Discord flagged that the 5 Gold fee may increase
- Sunforge close: season context still points toward mid/late August 2026 leaderboard and Tribute schedules; Gold persistence does not cancel other seasonal reward snapshots
- Balance / Dust prices: wiki Reforge costs escalate per item; track further Awakening PvP and Mage frost notes on the Jul 30–Aug 5 changelog (opens in new tab)
- Official channels: Discord and PlayCalamity on X (opens in new tab) for hotfix notes after maintenance
Bottom line: Update to 0.5.2, treat Withdraw as a multi-day experimental Gold→USDC path with a fee that can rise, keep or cash Gold under the new no-wipe rule, and spend Awakening Dust on one locked blue prefix only after you accept the permanent +10% cost curve.
