Gigaverse Gigling Racing Abstract Badge live: dung or butterfly claim

GLHF opened the Gigling Racing Abstract Badge for Gigaverse on July 28, 2026. Per the official Gigaverse post on X (opens in new tab), you qualify by buying dung or a butterfly on the in-game marketplace, then using that item during a live Gigling race. The same race consumables now double as the eligibility step for this Abstract drop.

You do not need to own a Gigling to use an item while spectating. You do need one if you want to create the race yourself.

Background

Gigaverse is GLHF's paid-entry browser RPG on Abstract. The live loop mixes roguelite dungeons, fishing, crafting, and pet care. Gigling Racing is the pet racing mode: ERC-721 Giglings enter free or ETH-stakes races (up to eight slots), with results resolved by a Race Oracle and submitted onchain. Studio docs say you can join with only a Gigling; creating a race still needs a Gigaverse.io account.

Abstract runs a separate Abstract XP program for ecosystem apps. Inside Gigaverse, stubs and badges feed that program. Racing awards Derby Stubs into a pool distinct from the main Gigaverse stubs leaderboard, per the Gigling Racing overview (opens in new tab). Prior Gigaverse flash badges (for example Giga Chad in February 2025 and Giga Juicy in May 2025) were time-boxed and claimed from Abstract rewards after an in-game action. Treat this racing badge the same way: finish the race item use, then check rewards while the drop stays listed.

What happened

Marketplace buy, then LIVE race use

On July 28, 2026, @playgigaverse (opens in new tab) posted that the Gigling Racing Abstract Badge is live, with this claim path:

  1. Open gigaverse.io/marketplace (opens in new tab) and acquire dung or a butterfly.
  2. Open gigaverse.io/racing (opens in new tab).
  3. Either spectate any race under the LIVE tab and drag-drop the item onto a racer, or create your own race and use the item once it goes live.

Creating a race requires a Gigling NFT (buyable on Gigaverse's marketplace or OpenSea (opens in new tab)). Studio docs also note that race creation needs a Gigaverse.io account, while joining a race needs only the pet.

Dung sabotage and butterfly boost

Item roles in racing are documented in the Gigling Racing overview (opens in new tab): dung slows rivals and butterflies speed your own Gigling. Those same consumables are what the badge quest asks you to spend. Players who already feed Giglings in the Hatchery already know the split: male pets produce dung, female pets produce butterflies, per the egg hatchery docs (opens in new tab). Buying from the marketplace skips that production loop if you only want the badge action.

Flash window, no named end date

No end date appears in the July 28 post. Earlier Abstract badges for Gigaverse closed after a few days (Giga Chad ran Feb 18–24, 2025; Giga Juicy ran May 1–6, 2025, per studio badge docs). Assume a short window until GLHF or Abstract says otherwise, and claim from Abstract rewards (opens in new tab) after the race use lands.

Who it affects

Players

If you already race Giglings, the badge is a low-friction add-on: buy one consumable, drop it on a live field, then check Abstract rewards. Spectating is enough for the item use step, so you can complete the race action without entering a Gigling of your own.

If you are new to racing, the badge is a reason to open the LIVE tab and learn the item UI. Free races still cost gas on Abstract. Stakes races take ETH entry fees set by the host, with payout splits and protocol fees described in the racing docs.

Derby Stubs from racing still matter beyond the badge. They feed the weekly Abstract XP allocation for racing activity. Gigaverse Abstract XP docs (opens in new tab) remind players that stubs snapshot on Friday at 12:00 UTC, do not roll over, and are not a 1:1 match for Portal XP numbers.

Collectors

Giglings sit at the center of race creation and of long-term racing. Floor and listing activity may spike when an Abstract badge points players at dung, butterflies, and race hosting. Check contract and network on the collection page before buying. Unhatched eggs still need a hatch inside Gigaverse before they race.

Tradable consumables and mats live under Gigaverse Items and the in-client Gigamarket. Badge demand can move short-term dung and butterfly prices without changing Gigling utility by itself. Prior flash badges did not permanently alter Gigling rights; treat this drop as a rewards quest unless GLHF publishes lasting utility for the badge itself.
