Gigaverse Online announced: Aug 7 fees and Trade Port lock ahead of The Awakening

GLHF will flip two economy switches in the live Gigaverse client on Friday, August 7, 2026: unjuiced Gigamarket listings will carry fees, and Trade Port import/export will close after an automatic onchain import. The studio named the longer-horizon build Gigaverse Online in Announcing: Gigaverse Online (opens in new tab) on July 31, 2026, with The Awakening pre-launch rules still to come.

Traders and inventory managers should treat August 7 as the near-term deadline. Full Awakening Cores mechanics and the Online launch clock sit in later studio posts, not this announcement.

Background

Gigaverse is GLHF's paid-entry browser RPG on Abstract. The live loop mixes roguelite dungeons, fishing, crafting, Conquest, Giglings, and ETH trades on Gigamarket. Factory NFTs (ROMs), tradable Items, and Giglings feed that economy.

Giga Juice is the account subscription that unlocks higher caps and related perks. Players without active Juice are the unjuiced group named in the August 7 fee row. Trade Port is the in-client path to move earned items onchain for wallet transfer or secondary sales; bought listings must be imported back to use in-game, per Gigaverse FAQs (opens in new tab).

Through early 2026 the studio talked about a longer Gigaverse 1.0 phase. The July 31 article makes Gigaverse Online the official name for the next application: an open-world social RPG with a seasonal economy, deeper faction interplay, specialty choice, and a new tech stack aimed at real-time play and faster patches. It is described as multichain ready at launch, though today's catalog gameplay remains Abstract-first. Existing accounts are meant to carry into Online.

What happened

Per the official Gigaverse X Article (opens in new tab):

Gigaverse Online rename and scope

  • Gigaverse Online replaces the interim Gigaverse 1.0 label.
  • New application framing: open-world exploration, live social play, seasonal economy, faction interplay, specialty choice.
  • Studio goal: accessible late joiners without a permanent solved meta; enough depth for competitive players.
  • Multichain ready from launch (intent stated); existing Gigaverse accounts carry into Online.
  • Art and staging shots dated Q1 2026, showing a selection of three worlds.
  • Launch described as a few months away (no calendar date).

The Awakening and Hall of Noobs (announcement-level)

  • The Awakening is an in-game event GLHF will announce and launch soon; it ends before Online launches.
  • Stated goal during the event: collect as many Cores as you can.
  • How Cores work, earn paths, and rewards are deferred until closer to go-live.
  • Hall of Noobs ranks players by Cores, with separate boards for medals and holdings of key ecosystem assets. Once Online is live, the Hall is positioned as the long-term alignment record for the ecosystem.

Items, Gigacha, and the current client path

Items already earned in the current game fall into three buckets in the article:

  1. Used to craft for Awakening competition
  2. Usable in Awakening for Cores collection
  3. Stay as cosmetics or become heirlooms carried into Online

Gigacha coins carry into Online for a future feature or event. Per-item mapping is not published yet.

The current client stays online as a provenance playground (the founding MVP) until Awakening ends.

Gigling Racing and ROMs 2.0

Gigling Racing will keep receiving ad hoc quality-of-life updates while the team focuses on Online. ROMs 2.0 is flagged for a future announcement only; ROMs and GLHFers are named top ecosystem assets without mechanics or dates in this post.

Who it affects

Players

If you still move stacks between wallet and client, finish exports or imports you care about before August 7. After the cutover, onchain items will pull into the account automatically and the Trade Port path will close for the Awakening window described in the article.

If you list on Gigamarket without Giga Juice, budget for listing fees from August 7. Juice subscribers keep the prior free-listing framing for that fee line; confirm in-client after patch day.

Play the current dungeon, fishing, and Conquest loops knowing the studio is steering attention toward Awakening prep and Online. Gigling Racing remains playable with ongoing QoL, not a freeze.

Collectors

ROM holders get a ROMs 2.0 tease without mechanics, dates, or utility changes in this article. Do not price ROMs from the Online headline alone.

Item holders should inventory what sits only on-chain versus only in-client before auto-import, then watch for Awakening craft and Cores recipes when those land.

Gigling racing continues; it is not folded into the August 7 listing/import table. Hall of Noobs rankings that weight key ecosystem assets may matter later; the article does not name which contracts count.

What to watch next

Bottom line: Before August 7, finish Trade Port moves you still control and decide whether active Giga Juice is worth free Gigamarket listings once unjuiced fees apply. Hold Online and ROMs 2.0 pricing until Awakening Cores rules ship with dates.
