Immutable Audience: grow Steam game wishlists for studios
Immutable opened Immutable Audience to pre-launch Steam studios on August 21, 2026: a growth stack for wishlists, multi-channel attribution, and an owned player CRM (customer relationship management) tool: players who opt in leave contacts (email, Discord, Telegram, linked accounts) so the studio can send launch reminders, updates, and later DLC or sequel mail without relying only on Steam’s wishlist email. In a GamesBeat interview (opens in new tab), CEO Robbie Ferguson said Audience brings mobile-style measurement to PC distribution. Pre-launch Steam studios can adopt it for wishlist and CRM work. Studios already on Immutable infrastructure may use it for Steam marketing without needing Passport or zkEVM for the PC product itself. The product is not a blockchain mint or Passport quest.
Background
Immutable built its name on Web3 gaming tooling (Passport, zkEVM, hubs such as Immutable Play). Over the last year it has also sold growth services to mainstream PC studios. GamesBeat notes work with more than 700 games and studios, fundraising above $300 million (investors including Tencent), and publisher relationships that include Ubisoft and NetMarble.
Steam competition is the stated reason for shipping Audience now. Immutable’s figures, via GamesBeat, put Steam Next Fest at 4,353 games in June 2026 (+66% year on year) and Steam monthly active users up about 18% over the same period. Studios buy ads, creators, and festival slots, yet Steam often shows only a total wishlist count. Immutable claims 80–90% of pre-launch wishlists lack a usable attribution path.
Ferguson told GamesBeat there is no blockchain tech in the PC/console Audience platform. The company still runs its blockchain-games business, which he said has shrunk. Treat Audience as a Steam growth CRM, not as a new on-chain season.
What happened
Product launch (August 21, 2026)
GamesBeat (opens in new tab) and the Immutable Audience page (opens in new tab) highlight three product areas:
- Growth Plan: recommendations for wishlist growth using performance data and learnings across Immutable’s game cohort.
- Enhanced Attribution: combining Steam, social, paid, and creator signals so teams see which activity drove wishlists, installs, and purchases. Immutable’s testing claim: coverage above 60% of wishlists, about three times the next-best approach they benchmarked.
- Owned audience / CRM: opt-in contacts (email, Discord, Telegram, linked accounts) so studios can send launch reminders, updates, and later DLC or sequel mail without relying only on Steam’s wishlist email.
Launch promo: one month of free product access for qualifying games that sign up through the launch announcement (GamesBeat (opens in new tab)).
Ferguson said Immutable is talking with more than 100 studios about Audience and hopes to reach thousands over time. Days earlier, on August 18, secondary coverage relayed his claim that Immutable had onboarded roughly 15 studios per week over the prior 90 days while teasing an “imminent” product (EGamers (opens in new tab)).
Case studies named in coverage
Empulse (1047 Games). Immutable says systems behind Audience helped Empulse grow by more than 300,000 wishlists in under two months and finish as the 6th most-played demo out of 4,353 games during the June 2026 Steam Next Fest (GamesBeat (opens in new tab)).
Might & Magic: Fates (Ubisoft). Immutable’s customer case study (opens in new tab) says Fates launched globally on February 4, 2026 across mobile and PC as free-to-play, and that Audience-style onboarding plus multi-channel activation produced 2.8× Day 1 player conversion (6.64% vs 2.37% storefront flow) and 3.0× by Day 14 (10.22% vs 3.43%). GamesBeat repeats the 2.8× wishlist-to-purchase uplift framing for Ubisoft testing. Fates is already in the Web3Raider catalog on Immutable (Might and Magic: Fates).
These are Immutable-reported conversion figures. They are not independent audits.
Who it affects
Steam studios and publishers
If you are pre-launch on Steam, Audience is a marketing instrumentation decision: capture consented contacts, attribute channels, and run personalized outreach toward wishlist and purchase. Check eligibility for the one-month free window on Immutable’s launch signup path. Do not assume Passport or zkEVM is required for Audience itself.
Players of Immutable-linked titles
You may see more email, Discord, Telegram, or in-app prompts that ask you to link accounts before a Steam launch or a cross-platform title. Opt-in language matters. Audience does not by itself change combat balance, NFT utility, or gas rules on zkEVM.
Collectors
No new collection mint ships with this announcement. Secondary markets for existing Immutable titles follow studio and marketplace rules. Use Audience news as a signal that Immutable is investing in Web2 distribution, not as a reason to reprice existing Immutable NFT listings.

What to watch next
- Signup and pricing on immutable.com/audience (opens in new tab) after the free month window
- Whether Ferguson’s “thousands of studios” goal shows up as named Steam partners beyond Empulse and Ubisoft
- How Audience sits beside Immutable Play discovery for titles that still use Passport and zkEVM
- Studio posts that clarify whether a given wishlist campaign is Audience-powered or ordinary Steam ads
Bottom line: If you ship on Steam, evaluate Audience as an attribution and CRM tool against Immutable’s published case metrics and your own privacy stack. If you only play or collect on Immutable chains, treat this as company strategy toward PC growth, not as a change to gas, mints, or Passport quests until a specific title says otherwise.
