Might and Magic: Fates The Forge opens with mint costs and Veteran wins
Ubisoft opened The Forge for Might and Magic: Fates on August 26, 2026. Players can mint Veteran in-game cards into digital collectibles on mightandmagicfates.com (opens in new tab), then trade, gift, sell, or burn them. Minted copies stay cosmetic only (icon shape and gem). They do not change ranked power. If you already farm duplicates on Immutable, this is the fee table and win gate to check before you sacrifice a stack.
Background
Fates is Ubisoft’s free-to-play hero TCG on Immutable zkEVM, live on mobile since February 4, 2026 and on Steam Early Access soon after. Ranked play does not require a wallet. Optional ownership sits on Fates Cards and the Founder Key line. Ubisoft and Immutable have framed trading as region-gated and non-pay-to-win since launch.
Until Forge, TokenTrove listings were thin. Community coverage noted that many on-chain copies still came from Key entitlements, while a roadmap “sacrificial altar” style sink stayed delayed past the original Q2 window. Celestial Heavens (opens in new tab) described Forge as the sacrifice path that would let more cards become NFTs. August Discord posts are the operational rules drop and the go-live confirmation for that system under the Forge name.
Prior Web3Raider coverage: Broken Oaths update for the live TCG patch cadence, and Champions Tactics sunset → Fates for the publisher funnel. Neither piece documented mint costs or Veterancy.
What happened
Discord rules drop and go-live
On August 25, 2026, Ubisoft staff account charliiie posted in the official Might & Magic: Fates Discord (opens in new tab) that The Forge was coming and that the wait would end the next day. That post published the full Forge and Veteran rules (costs, sacrifice rules, cosmetic-only framing).
On August 26, 2026, the same staff account posted “It's live!” / “The Forge is now open!”, pointed players to mightandmagicfates.com (opens in new tab), and told anyone missing the Forge tab to clear cache and refresh. Treat that go-live Discord note plus the live website tab as confirmation. No matching public X thread or Helpshift Forge FAQ with the full price table was indexed at write time.
What The Forge does
Per the August 25 Discord rules post:
- Players transform in-game cards into digital collectibles by minting.
- Minting consumes cards of the same quality and rarity.
- Minted assets can be traded, sold, gifted, or burnt.
- Visual distinction only: icon shape and gem. No gameplay advantage.
That matches the existing Helpshift line that NFT and non-NFT cards share the same function, with trade pointed at TokenTrove’s Fates Cards collection (opens in new tab).
Minting process
Discord’s step list:
- Open the Forge tab on the Might & Magic: Fates website.
- Select a card that has the required Veterancy level.
- Preview the minted collectible.
- Choose sacrifice cards of the same rarity that are not already digital collectibles.
- Receive the minted collectible in your Immutable Passport wallet.
Minting costs (as published)
Prices differ by rarity and finish. Discord states a Key Holders discount will apply, without publishing the percentage, and reserves the right to change prices later. Do not assume the webshop’s separate 20% Diamond pack Key discount (Helpshift Webshop FAQ (opens in new tab)) is the Forge mint rate until Ubisoft says so.
| Rarity | Standard | Foil | Animated | Limited |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 4 Common Standard + $0.20 | 4 Common Foil + $0.30 | 4 Common Animated + $0.60 | 4 Common Standard + $9.99 |
| Rare | 3 Rare Standard + $0.50 | 3 Rare Foil + $0.70 | 3 Rare Animated + $1.40 | 3 Rare Standard + $9.99 |
| Epic | 2 Epic Standard + $1.99 | 2 Epic Foil + $2.49 | 2 Epic Animated + $4.99 | 2 Epic Standard + $9.99 |
| Legendary | 1 Legendary Standard + $2.99 | 1 Legendary Foil + $3.99 | 1 Legendary Animated + $7.99 | 1 Legendary Standard + $9.99 |
Veteran Rule (current): every card needs a minimum number of PvP wins before it can mint. Discord sets that floor at 3 won games for now.
Veteran system
Discord’s design notes:
- Cards gain 1 Veteran point per win.
- At 3 points the card is fully Veteran and mint-eligible (threshold can change).
- Cards in the same stack share Veterancy. A new duplicate inherits the stack’s level.
- Playing any copy in the stack raises Veterancy for all copies.
- Minting one max-Veterancy card into a collectible leaves the rest of the stack at the same Veteran level.
- If you sacrifice, disenchant, or mint every copy of a stack, the next pull of that card starts at level 0.
Example from the post: five fully Veteran Angels of Salvation sacrificed to empty leave the next Angel of Salvation at Veteran 0.
Who it affects
Players
You can keep climbing ranked without minting. If you plan to mint, bank three PvP wins on the stack you care about before opening the Forge tab. Count sacrifice cost in copies of the same rarity and finish, then the dollar fee. Limited finishes use Standard sacrifices plus a flat $9.99 fee in the published table. Emptying a stack resets Veterancy for future pulls, so do not burn your last copies if you still want that line Veteran-ready.
Collectors
Forge is the supply path beyond early Key mints. Check Fates Cards contract details and TokenTrove listings after you mint to Passport. Cosmetic-only means secondary price is not a ranked power bid. Founder Key holders should verify the Forge Key discount in the live UI rather than reusing the webshop Diamonds 20% figure. Gas for Immutable zkEVM marketplace moves still uses IMX when fees are not abstracted by Passport.

What to watch next
- Key Holders discount % on the live Forge UI (not published in Discord)
- Cache clear / refresh if the Forge tab does not appear on mightandmagicfates.com (opens in new tab)
- Whether Ubisoft mirrors the fee table on X (opens in new tab) or Helpshift
- New TokenTrove depth after player mints land in Passport
- Any change to the 3-win Veteran threshold
- Region eligibility notices if the Forge UI gates wallets by territory
Bottom line: Open the Forge tab on mightandmagicfates.com (opens in new tab), confirm the stack is at 3 PvP wins, count same-rarity sacrifices against the published fee row, and check the live Key discount rather than assuming the webshop Diamonds rate.
