Gigaverse The Awakening: Cores, Hall of Noobs, and $20k prize pot
GLHF published The Awakening: How it Works on X (opens in new tab) on August 4, 2026. The Awakening opens Monday, August 10, 2026 and runs through Monday, October 12, 2026 in the live Abstract client. Exact start time lands closer to go-live.
For the next ~two months your grind collapses to one score: collect Cores. After the event ends, the studio plans a short downtime, then Gigaverse Online.
Background
Gigaverse is GLHF’s browser RPG on Abstract. The live loop mixes dungeons, fishing, crafting, Conquest, Giglings, and Gigamarket trading. Factory NFTs (ROMs), tradable Items, and Giglings sit at the center of that economy. Giga Juice is the account subscription that unlocks juiced multipliers and related perks.
On July 31 the studio renamed the next build Gigaverse Online and flagged The Awakening as the bridge event, with Core rules still TBA. The related Update Gigaverse Online announced covers the August 7 Gigamarket listing fees for unjuiced accounts and Trade Port import/export lock. The August 4 article is the deferred rules drop for the event itself.
What happened
Per the official Gigaverse X Article (opens in new tab) and the studio Discord pointer to that post:
Event window and framing
- Window: August 10 – October 12, 2026 (~2 months).
- Set in the current Gigaverse client (the game as players know it today).
- Studio framing: last major event in that client before downtime and Gigaverse Online.
Cores and how to earn them
Cores exist only during The Awakening. End-of-event Core totals feed your Hall of Noobs rank.
Named earn paths:
| Path | Detail |
|---|---|
| New dungeon | New mechanics; consumables craftable from ROM faction materials |
| New fishing pond | New mechanics and challenges; same consumable craft note |
| Resource conversion | Resources from ROMs, Giglings, and relic armor |
| Quests / turn-ins | Weekly and daily quests plus item turn-in offers |
| Other | Article leaves additional paths open (“and more”) |
Juiced noobs receive 4× Cores relative to the unjuiced baseline. Deeper fishing and dungeon system notes are deferred until the event actually opens.
Progression and gear
You level skills with XP from the new dungeon and fishing pond, and by crafting Awakening gear (rods, lures, charms, head and body pieces) from items already found in Gigaverse. Only gear crafted in The Awakening zone can be used in the new dungeon and fishing pond.
Story framing: you enter the forbidden woods, meet a new NPC, and get the single objective to collect Cores.
Hall of Noobs
- Overall rank driven by Cores.
- Separate rankings for medals and holdings of key ecosystem assets (contracts not listed in this article).
- Studio positions the Hall as the long-term alignment record for the Gigaverse ecosystem after Online launches.

- SBTs / account-bound items
- Dung and butterflies

- Others: TBD
Who it affects
Players
If you compete on Cores, treat August 10 as the start of a two-month score chase. Juiced accounts get a 4× multiplier. Craft Awakening-zone gear before you push the new dungeon or fishing pond; off-zone craft does not qualify for those modes.
Watch for the juice offer that opens the 50% prize-pot contribution window, and for the still-unnumbered minimum Core threshold for gacha eligibility. After October 12, expect downtime, then Online with eternal-marked balances and listed cosmetics.
Collectors
ROM faction materials feed Awakening consumables. Gigling and relic-armor conversion sits on the Core path. Existing Items may matter for zone craft and turn-ins.
Hall rankings that weight “key ecosystem assets” still omit contract lists. Do not reprice ROMs or Items from the prize-pot headline alone. Dungeon-drop cosmetics are not on the Online carry-over list.

What to watch next
- Exact August 10 start time on Gigaverse X (opens in new tab) and Discord
- In-client dungeon/fishing mechanic notes when the event opens
- Minimum Core threshold for gacha eligibility
- Juice offer that starts the 50% pot contribution window
- Which contracts count as “key ecosystem assets” for Hall rankings
- Final TBD rows on the Online carry-over list
- Post-event downtime and Gigaverse Online launch window
Bottom line: Before August 10, decide whether you want active Giga Juice for the 4× Core rate and any promo tied to the pot contribution window. Inventory ROM mats, Gigling outputs, and craftables for Awakening-zone gear; do not assume dungeon-drop cosmetics will survive into Online.
