NomStead Live update: in-game Gold Bar buys fill TokenTrove listings
On September 27, 2026, NomStead said in the official Discord (opens in new tab) that players can buy Gold Bars directly in-game in Kingdoms and Stadiums. Each purchase fills another player’s listing, while listings you post on TokenTrove or another Immutable marketplace show up in the client automatically, so newcomers can top up bars without leaving the game loop.
Background
NomStead is Julian Renard’s browser homestead sandbox on Immutable zkEVM. Silver pays NPC recipes and shops. Gold coins fuel routine in-game trade. Gold bars are tradeable ERC-1155 assets on Immutable (see the Gold bars FAQ (opens in new tab) for furnace mint math and Kingdoms/Stadiums spend paths). They are separate balances from coins, silver, and IMX gas when Passport sponsorship does not cover a transaction.
The next chapter (opens in new tab) still describes a future in-game order book for many non-NFT items. The September 27, 2026 note is narrower: a simple Gold Bar buy path that routes through player listings, not a full marketplace clone.
NomStead Live update: Pack button and NomStead Packs on TokenTrove covered the September 25 Pack button: crafting valuables into the NomStead Packs (opens in new tab) collection with Gold Bar packing fees. This Discord note adds buying bars themselves inside Kingdoms and Stadiums by matching existing marketplace listings.
What happened
In-game Gold Bar purchases
On September 27, 2026, NomStead listed:
- Buy in-client: You can buy Gold Bars directly in-game.
- Fill behavior: Your purchase fills another player’s listing (peer supply, not a studio bar shop).
- Listing sync: Listings you create on TokenTrove or another Immutable marketplace appear in-game automatically.
- Scope: The UI is intentionally simple. The team is not building a full marketplace or copying TokenTrove.
- Modes: Purchasing Gold Bars is much simpler in Kingdoms and Stadiums.
- Advanced trade: NomStead does not plan to integrate a full marketplace with advanced trading features. TokenTrove and other marketplaces remain the place for heavier trading workflows.
- Intent: Make in-app purchases easier for new players and more convenient for everyone.
The post does not document buy fees, listing sort order, or whether you can list bars from inside the client. Treat those as open until patch notes or docs catch up.
How this sits beside docs and prior coverage
The Gold bars FAQ (opens in new tab) still says players can trade bars on external marketplaces such as TokenTrove and that an in-game trading interface is also planned for the future. If the Help page still says planned while the client shows a buy path, prefer the live UI.
The FAQ also states the NomStead team will never mint or sell gold bars directly, which fits a model where bars move through player furnaces and player listings. That background does not replace the September 27 UI specifics from Discord.
NomStead Update: Gold bars and Stadiums split for June 2026 framed furnaces, bars as the cross-mode bridge, and Stadiums relaunch timing. This note is the convenience layer for importing bar liquidity while you play Kingdoms or Stadiums.
Who it affects
Kingdoms and Stadiums players
If you spend bars on Kingdoms marketplace items or Stadiums equipment and wagers, you can buy bars inside those modes instead of tabbing out to a marketplace first. After deploy, confirm the buy screen matches the listing you expect before you commit.
Sellers on TokenTrove and other Immutable marketplaces
If you list Gold Bars on TokenTrove or another Immutable marketplace, NomStead says those listings surface in-game automatically, which should widen the buyer pool beyond wallet-only shoppers. The studio did not publish fee splits or settlement timing in this paste.
New players and returning homesteaders
The stated goal is lower friction for players who do not yet have a marketplace workflow. You still need separate mental buckets for gold coins, bars, silver, and IMX, and you should not treat bar buys as investment advice. Market price stays player-driven per the FAQ.
Crafters who use the Pack button
Inventory Pack exports and Gold Bar packing fees are unchanged by this announce. Use the September 25 Pack article for crafted NomStead Packs rules; stock more bars through the in-game buy path when you need to play or pack.

What to watch next
- In-client buy flow: fees, confirmation screen, and how the client picks among multiple listings
- Whether sell/list actions stay marketplace-only or gain a minimal in-game mirror
- Gold bars FAQ (opens in new tab) updates that describe the buy UI as live rather than planned

Bottom line: After deploy, open the in-game Gold Bar buy path in Kingdoms or Stadiums, confirm you are filling a player listing you recognize, and keep TokenTrove bookmarked when you need charts, history, or advanced listing tools. Bars, coins, silver, and IMX stay separate purses, and this release does not replace the future non-NFT order book or the Pack export loop from the September 25 build.
