NomStead Live update: Pack button and NomStead Packs on TokenTrove
On September 25, 2026, NomStead said in the official Discord (opens in new tab) that a new client build is live with an inventory Pack button. Crafters can pack select crafted valuables into the NomStead Packs (opens in new tab) collection on TokenTrove, pay a Gold Bar fee that scales with rarity, and list on secondary markets while common gear still trades for gold coins inside the game.
Background
NomStead is Julian Renard’s browser homestead sandbox on Immutable zkEVM. The September 25 post confirms the Pack UI in the live build and adds detail beyond NomStead Packs update: inventory NFT mints, Gold Bar fees, Kingdoms reveals, including Lyra auction rules, Echoes conversion, client quality-of-life tweaks, and the split between nomstead.com (opens in new tab) and nomstead.com/play (opens in new tab). The September 24 note scheduled Packs and Kingdoms reveals; this broadcast is the go-live follow-up. Silver pays NPC recipes and shops. Gold coins fuel the in-game player marketplace. Gold bars are tradeable ERC-1155 assets on Immutable (see the Gold bars FAQ (opens in new tab)); furnace mint costs are quoted in gold coins, separate from the Gold Bar sink the studio tied to packing in Discord. Typical chain fees still run through IMX when Passport sponsorship does not cover a transaction.
Inventory Packs are not the same product as the legacy NomStead Pack (opens in new tab) shop article, which sells random tiles and bonus items from the store. September’s Pack button only exports items you already crafted from inventory.
What happened
Pack button and NomStead Packs on TokenTrove
On September 25, 2026, NomStead listed in Discord:
- Status: The studio said the new version is now live.
- Action: Use the new Pack button to move valuable items and objects from inventory into collectibles.
- Collection: Packed items join the official NomStead Packs hub on TokenTrove (opens in new tab).
- Eligibility: Only limited and valuable items and objects. Common items stay on the in-game marketplace for gold coins.
- Recipes: Cannot be packed. Only crafted items and objects qualify.
- Loop: Acquire a recipe, craft a valuable item, pack it, then sell on secondary marketplaces.
- Fee: Each pack costs Gold Bars, from 1 bar on more common packables and more for rarer or higher-value objects.
The post does not list every packable item, live fee tables, or contract addresses. Match in-game item names to TokenTrove listings before you buy.
Lyra, Echoes, and event wind-down
The same message adds event and currency cleanup:
- Last Lyra auctions run before the event ends this month (September 2026). Guitar auctions can grant extra wood or gems, but only on forest or mountain tiles, once per day.
- Leftover Echoes can convert at Gus’s shop for silver (the studio did not publish exact exchange rates in Discord).
Client quality-of-life and site split
Also in the live build:
- Camera mode for stills or short videos of tiles and moments (NomStead said it used the tool on the new landing page).
- Redrawn art for all music instruments.
- Inventory quantity indicators on the craft table and bonfire.
- Landing split: nomstead.com (opens in new tab) no longer redirects straight into the game; play starts at nomstead.com/play (opens in new tab) for onboarding.
Kingdoms and Stadiums reveal timing sat in the September 24 Packs preview; this live note centers on Pack, Lyra, Echoes, and client QoL. Follow The next chapter (opens in new tab) and studio channels for that roadmap arc.
Who it affects
Crafters and farmers
If you chase rare recipes, the Pack button is an optional export step after craft. Mass-produced commons for gold coin trade should stay in the in-game market under the announced rules. Keep Gold Bars stocked if you pack often, and treat bars, gold coins, silver, and IMX as separate balances.
Collectors and secondary buyers
NomStead Packs on TokenTrove (opens in new tab) is a listing family for crafted exports, not a replacement for Tiles, Visas, or companions. Verify collection, item identity, and seller metadata in the marketplace UI before you bid.
Returning players and newcomers
Bookmark nomstead.com/play (opens in new tab) if you launch from a saved link. The root site is now a marketing landing, which may lag older docs that still say Play Now on nomstead.com alone.
