NomStead's new season starts Oct 9 after Lyra closes; Stadiums public launch pushed to year-end

On October 9, 2026, NomStead said in the official Discord⁠ (opens in new tab) that a new season starts today at 11:00 UTC. Friday content lands with the live client; the studio had already framed the run as lasting at least three months.

Background

NomStead is Julian Renard’s browser homestead sandbox on Immutable zkEVM. The next chapter⁠ (opens in new tab) (still marked draft) describes Kingdoms (farm, craft, build) and Stadiums (PvP/PvE) linked by gold bars: tradeable ERC-1155 assets on Immutable (Gold bars FAQ⁠ (opens in new tab)). Gas runs through IMX when Passport does not sponsor a transaction.

That draft listed a new season system, Interiors, and Artist for a Q3 2026 Kingdoms update. October 9 pins the season start. September 30 Discord notes closed Lyra and postponed Stadiums public launch to year-end while the mode stayed live for testing. Prior cards on gold bars / Stadiums and in-game Gold Bar buys stay background.

Silver, gold coins, Echoes, the season temporary currency, and any make-good balance are in-game currencies, not a NomStead ERC-20. Permanent NFT collections stay Tiles, Visas, Packs, and Companions per the draft docs.

What happened

New season starts October 9

On October 9, 2026, NomStead said the season starts this Friday at 11:00 UTC, with:

• A mysterious artist bringing new quests, a new temporary currency, and collectibles
• A new crop and its industry
• A new tree in the store

September 30 Discord said the larger event would run for at least three months. No end date landed on October 9. Names for the artist, currency, crop, and tree were not given. Treat Friday content as scheduled until it appears in the live client.

Art Studio and first interiors (undated)

Still “coming next,” without dates:

• The Art Studio: Create, exhibit, and trade digital artwork. Founders get their final Founder perk when it unlocks. The studio did not define Founders or the perk, and did not say Art Studio artwork is on-chain.
• First interiors: Craft a little house, use a dedicated interior editor, and fill it with new collectibles and tools.

September 30 already teased Day-1 crops, the Art Studio, and interiors. October 9 is the dated follow-up that pins the season clock and adds Stadiums access rules.

Lyra closes

On September 30, 2026, NomStead said Lyra (its first global event) was ending. Players were told to use or redeem remaining Echoes; remaining Echoes balances would be wiped at close. The announce named 2026-09-30 11:00 UTC as originally stated. NomStead later said that end time was wrong and apologized, but published no corrected clock. Do not treat that stamp as a verified actual close.

Make-good: all Lyra participants will receive 5,000 units of a new currency (unnamed in the announcement) when the new event starts. The studio did not say that currency is the Friday temporary currency, or confirm delivery. Future event times would use Discord timestamps in local time (the October 9 season stamp follows that pattern).

On October 8, 2026, @NomSteadGame on X⁠ (opens in new tab) posted that 35,000,000+ items were burned during the LYRA Event. That is a studio claim, not on-chain proof cited here.

Stadiums: year-end public launch target, level-10 testing gate

One testing line, not a second slip on October 9:

• September 30: NomStead postponed the public launch of Stadiums until the end of this year. Stadiums would remain live and continue receiving updates while the team prepared, citing more time needed before a public launch.
• October 9: While testing continues ahead of public launch, access will now require level 10 to limit bots and abuse.
• Rewards: Last-season Stadiums rewards land at the end of this month (end of October 2026; no day).

October 9 did not restate or change the year-end public-launch target.

Who it affects

Kingdoms farmers and quest runners

Be online around 11:00 UTC on October 9 for the Friday artist quests, temporary currency, new crop industry, and store tree as they appear. Keep gold coins, silver, gold bars, and any temporary season currency in separate buckets.

Lyra participants

Finish Echoes spend/redeem under the close rules if any remain. Watch for the 5,000-unit make-good of the unnamed currency when the new event starts. Do not assume it equals the Friday temporary currency until NomStead names both.

Stadiums testers

Under level 10, expect the new access gate during testing. Public launch remains targeted for end of 2026. Last-season rewards are due by end of October; amounts and the exact day were not published.

Founders and collectors

A final Founder perk unlocks with the Art Studio; perk contents and Founder eligibility are not defined first-party here. Permanent collections stay Tiles, Visas, Packs, and Companions. Art Studio trade wording alone does not make artwork an NFT collection.
